Ottertoberfest

Sunday we met MawMaw, MawMaw Tommie and Uncle Jeff at the Zoo for Ottertoberfest. We also ran into our friends Casey and Addison. They did a craft together. We went into the Insectarium to see the butterflies and then to Caribbean Cove. It was the last day to see the stingrays this year. We got to see the 3 stingray babies. The stingrays were ornery. They were splashing and almost diving at our hands. We ate lunch, went to Historic Hill, Jungle of the Apes and listened to the band. Kaitlynn rode the Carousel, we saw the penguins, bears and went through River's Edge.

As we were leaving the Zoo, we saw silent protesters across the street. Their signs said the zoo wasn't big enough for the elephants. I think the zoos are wonderful for species survival, education and making the animals lovable. Seeing these animals at the zoos allow us to become familiar with the animals, get to know the animals, care about the animals and take part in causes to help the animals. I think our Zoo, as probably most, if not all, take very good care of the animals. They are very knowledgeable about the animals, too.
