MawMaw's Last Day of Vacation

Wednesday, MawMaw, Kaitlynn, Olivia and I went to the Zoo. Kaitlynn loves the new double stroller and so do I.
We met up with Emily, Ella, Bene and Logan after they got out of Zoomagination Station.

The baby elephants were out. It was so cute to see them playing together.
Kaitlynn held Bene's hand the rest of the way through River's Edge. She had Bene playing with her at the waterfall outside River's Edge.

Logan loved playing in the water. Kaitlynn loved jumping with Bene.
They all had a great time playing in the water.
Ella liked the double stroller. I think Emily is going to have to invest in one.
After lunch, Kaitlynn rode the carousel with MawMaw.
Kaitlynn and MawMaw took a long nap after we got home.

Getting Lucky

Tuesday, Kaitlynn, Olivia and I went to lunch with MawMaw. After Olivia went home, MawMaw and I gathered some baby stuff from around the house and took it to Kangaroo Kids. They bought a good portion of the stuff and I totally got lucky. As MawMaw was carrying in a box of clothes, she saw a double stroller (Sit n Stand LX) at the counter and asked Sierra (the owner) if it was for sale. Sierra said it was. It had just been brought in that morning or afternoon. We checked it out and Kaitlynn was in love. I used the money from the things they bought to help pay for it. We also found some super cute fall and winter outfits that they just put out.

We went to Once Upon A Child with the rest of the stuff, but they only bought 2 things. They claimed the stuff had stains or too old of tags. If you know me, you know the stuff didn't have stains. I am a fanatic about stains. Dave and my mom got so irritated with me about stains on Kaitlynn's clothes. I will wash them for 2 months straight just to get a tiny little stain out. I probably won't waste my time with OUAC again. I'll just stick with Kangaroo Kids.

Sued by your MIL

On the Today Show this morning, Al Roker interviewed Sunda Croonquist, a comedian who is being sued by her MIL (apparently SIL and BIL, too) for being the butt of her jokes (defamation of character). Sunda has been telling these jokes for 10 years and they are just now suing! You know it's all about the money or they are just trying to get her out of the family. Well, I don't think it's going to get her out of the family considering Sunda's husband's law firm is defending her against his family. It may tear the family apart, but sometimes I don't think people care about that. Sunda talked about how this has affected her 2 daughters. I don't think the MIL has taken into account what this is doing / going to do to her granddaughters.

You can watch the interview by clicking on the link below:

or read about it here:

In a poll, the majority of people thought that the MIL had no lawsuit. On MomLogic, one commenter said "Wow! I guess the MIL doesn’t care that she’s just lost her son and grandkids." Read more:

What do you think? Why do MILs take such offense to their DILs? Why do MILs think they have a right to chose their son's partners / spouses? I think when an MIL or ILs (for that matter) dislike a person's spouse, they might as well just say good-bye to any relationship they could have had with their child or grandchild(ren). You can't try to separate a family. It just doesn't work.

Monday night after dinner at El Nopal, Kaitlynn, Dave, MawMaw and I were in the backyard. The 2 neighbor girls that live behind us were out. Kaitlynn was so excited to see them and they were excited to see her. The younger girl (who is just a month or two older than Kaitlynn) calls her "Clayton" because she can't say Kaitlynn. It's so cute. The older girl is about 5 and is so nice to Kaitlynn. Anyway, Kaitlynn played in their yard with them while I talked to their mom. She is very nice and friendly. She was talking about how they recently started a neighborhood group and invited us to join them. I can't believe we have lived in this house for over 5 years and we are just now getting to know our neighbors. I think it helps when you have kids. I have really enjoyed the friendships we've acquired because of Kaitlynn and hope they continue. Dave and I are really excited to meet some more of the neighbors.

I have to say, until Sunday night, I really didn't know how people became addicted to Facebook. I have been on Facebook for a while now. I rarely check it, unless I get an email about a friend request, comment or message. I started uploading more pictures to my Facebook page recently and it's kind of fun sharing those with people that I know, but don't see often (or haven't seen since grade school). Sunday night I also got the chance to catch up with a few friends that I hadn't talked to in a while by using the chat feature. I was able to chat with like 4 or 5 people at the same time. I also like that I get immediate feedback on stuff - like pictures, comments that I've left, etc. I wouldn't say that I am addicted to Facebook now, but I have a new appreciate for it. At least, now, I understand how people can get addicted.

A Real Mother

I don't know what Dave and I would do without my mom. She helps us out so much. Monday, she watched Kaitlynn for me and then came over to help me start getting the house back in order. For the last month, I have been sick on a weekly, almost daily basis and it's been hard to keep up with the house. The house isn't perfect, but it looks so much better than it did. Thank you mom! Now, I just hope I start feeling better.
