Dance, Preschool, Swim and Last LLL Class

Tuesday October 19th, Kaitlynn had dance class. After class, Ms. Julie gave each of the girls a laffy taffy. Kaitlynn loves laffy taffy! We came home, ate lunch and Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. While packing her snack (grapes and chex mix), I noticed there was an issue with her lunch box.
Apparently, it was on the stove (but not near the burners) and the heat from the oven melted the handle.
So I scrambled to find her another lunch box and thankfully she was happy to use it.

We were still having issues with the laptop. It mysteriously started working, so I immediately started backing the files up. It still wasn't working right though.

We got to preschool a few minutes early, so Kaitlynn played in the Commons area. We saw Ms. Amy, her PAT Educator. She complimented Kaitlynn's shoes matching her outfit. Kaitlynn was happy to see her.

While Kaitlynn was at school I went to Target. When I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool the daily schedule said they read "It's Pumpkin Time", played at the pumpkin patch area, drew jack-o-lantern faces, played store, went outside to play on the playground and sang a Halloween song. Kaitlynn brought home a leaf she collected from the playground. We got her special drink and then went home to rest before swim class.

It was the last night of the Tuesday Tadpole Swimming class. I am going to miss a couple of the moms from that class. I hope to stay in contact with Jessica and her little girl Helen. There only ended up being 3 kids in the last class. They found the rings in the shallow pool, poured water on themselves, popped the bubble, practiced their swim strokes and kicking. In the deep water they used a noodle to help with swimming, floated with the instructors and jumped in the pool to the instructors. At the end of class, the instructors gave each kid a treat bag. We had to borrow Helen's towel because we left the house without grabbing Kaitlynn's! Another good parenting moment!!!

After swim class, I went to my last LLL class. We all brought in a snack to share with the group. We had a smorgasbord of stuff to eat all while finish up on learning about Love, Limits and Laughter (with our kids).

Fairy Tales

Sunday, October 17th, the laptop shut off and wouldn't turn back on. Thankfully a friend on facebook gave me a name of a computer guy to call to get the laptop fixed.

Monday, October 18th, I babysat Max. Kaitlynn and I attended Fairy Tales at ECC. They had free play, then circle time, and then started on the crafts. I was a little frustrated that they started putting some of the crafts up before asking if everyone got to do them. It seemed like it was rushed to do the crafts, so they could get to snack time. At snack, the kids ate the gingerbread cookie they made while one of the teachers read a story. It was difficult for all of the kids to see the book that teacher was reading to them. I liked the crafts that were made, but this was one of the few I thought wasn't put together so well.

Afterwards, Kaitlynn and I went to get a special drink. In the parking lot this guy started talking to Kaitlynn and after he went inside she said "I'm a beautiful princess and everybody likes me!" I love her self-esteem! Wouldn't it be great if we could all feel this way about ourselves? (I do realize some people feel this way and it's called narcissism. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about genuinely thinking you are worth something and special.)

Kaitlynn and I ran some errands then met Tia, Annabelle and Alayna at Larson Park. The girls played awhile and then we went to Yo My Goodness for dessert before dinner!

Fright Fest

Sunday, October 17th, we ate lunch at McDonald's and then went to Six Flags for Fright Fest (again). Hanna and Adam met us there. Kaitlynn wore her new Alice in Wonderland costume. There was a Zhu Zhu pet table and play center set up that Kaitlynn had fun going through. She had fun doing the kids crafts (decorating a cookie, pumpkin, making a mummy and a bookmark). She did the Trick or Treat trail, rode some rides with Hanna and participated in the Kids Costume contest. She won the contest, but they gave prizes to all the kids that participated. She got a Wiggles DVD. She has never even seen the Wiggles before, but she had a fun time. We watched a show, but Kaitlynn was a little afraid of it. She rode some more rides. We had a great time! It was such warm beautiful weather we were blessed with!

Forest Park, Ottertoberfest and Pumpkinland

Saturday, October 16th, we went to Forest Park. It was a beautiful day to walk around the park!

We went to the Zoo for Ottertoberfest. Kaitlynn made a River otter, dressed up as a River otter and played a game and got a bag of candy for completing 2 crafts / games. We went through River's Edge and had a snack before leaving the Zoo.

We went to Pumpkinland at Thies Farm. Kaitlynn fell asleep after we left the Zoo, but woke up when we got to Pumpkinland. She had a blast. We looked at the animals first. Then Kaitlynn and Dave went down a slide together, she swung on a tire swing with 2 boys pushing her, she went down another slide like a million times, played on the pirate ship, climbed up the pyramid / haystack, did the zipper line, swung on the horse tire swing, rode a tricycle, went through a maze, spun in a tire with some other kids and swung on another swing. She really had a great time!

We went to church after that. As we got closer Kaitlynn was saying "I see my church!" and then kept repeating "I'm going to church!" We continued our series titled "Unfrozen: How the prayer of Jesus changes us." We started a conversation about forgiveness. We talked about how we can really learn to forgive ourselves and each other. I served on the Communion team this month as well.
Kaitlynn enjoyed her class. They learned that "The Bible says "Jesus loves everyone." They heard the story of Jesus and the little children. They worked on remembering "Jesus loves everyone. Jesus loves our families."
We ate dinner at Qdoba. When we got home I had a headache, so Dave and Kaitlynn went to get some hot chocolate while I showered.

Grant's Farm Halloween

Friday, October 15th was Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. It's a day where we remember all babies born sleeping or those we have carried but never met, and those we have held but could not take home.

I babysat Max. Later Dave, Kaitlynn and I picked up MawMaw and had dinner at Bread Co. Then we met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna at Grant's Farm for their Halloween event. It was a fun night. We rode the tram, Kaitlynn and Annabelle fed the goats and we watched the Halloween show (which Kaitlynn was scared the entire time). The show wasn't scary, I think she was just fearful because of the train ride from Fright Fest. Kaitlynn loved having a Grant's Farm stroller. She loves those big strollers and they were free to rent that day. Kaitlynn and Annabelle rode the carousel. We walked around looking at the animals and decorations. Kaitlynn stirred the witch's brew pot. Kaitlynn and Annabelle decorated a pumpkin and then we went to the Beer Garden, where Hanna and Adam met us. Hanna brought Kaitlynn some SpongeBob silly bandz. Kaitlynn's first set of silly bandz. Kaitlynn's costume was shot. I can't believe she only wore it 2 or 3 times and it's already ripped. Oh well! We ate, drank and enjoyed the music at Grant's Farm. We had a great time!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

Thursday, October 14th, Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna for dinner at Denny's before heading to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Barnum's FUNundrum. I was hoping to get there early enough for the preshow, but we didn't. Kaitlynn got a program (from Feld). Our seats were pretty high up (higher than last time). We had to buy a ticket last minute because we had someone else want to go with our group, so that's probably the only place where there was an extra ticket so we could all sit together. The show didn't keep Kaitlynn's interest at all. I'm not sure if it was because we were so high up or because Annabelle was with us. But she just wasn't interested in watching the show. I thought it was a good show. The animals didn't seem to be out as much like in previous shows we've seen, though.

Thank you Feld for the complimentary tickets!

9th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, October 13th, I had another early morning appointment then babysat Max. Kaitlynn ate lunch and got ready for preschool. We packed her lunch (popcorn and raisins) in her lunch box. We arrived early so she played in the Commons area. When she saw Dominic (a boy in her class), she told me he was her "favorite friend at school."

On the 12th, I received my new cell phone that I had been waiting on. ‎It's my 6th cell phone in less than a year! What the heck is up with that? These phones are not my friend! ‎I've had 3 LG VUs, 1 Samsung Impression, 1 Nokia Go phone and now a Samsung Solstice. I just want a working phone! I just started using it on the 13th and seem to like it so far. Hopefully this one lasts.
Pictures from my new phone

The 12th, we had received some news that really had us feeling very overwhelmed. It seemed to be a time we needed to start thinking big because big decisions = big changes! Everything was kind of on the table at that point.

When I went to pick Kaitlynn up from preschool, I got there a little early. It made my day to see Kaitlynn playing on the playground with her classmates! The daily schedule said they read "Talk and Work It Out," built with Duplo blocks and pretended to have "emergencies", played a pumpkin patch collection game, went outside to play on the playground and in music gave clues and solved the "I Like Somebody" guessing game. Ms. Maureen gave Kaitlynn a thank you card for all the special treats she has brought into her. We received another memo regarding the hearing screening later in the month, the October newsletter and a fact sheet on the Flu.

We went to get our special drinks and as we were driving there it became apparent to me that Kaitlynn may be watching too much Dora. She said "I see Circle K. Is it this path or this one? Path 2 that's correct!" I felt like I was in a Dora cartoon, even though it was cute!
We went to visit MawMaw. She watched Kaitlynn so I could attend a Pediatrics First Aids Basics class at the ECC. I received some really great and helpful information from this free class.

On Wednesday the 14th, I had my Women's Bible Study. I am so thankful for this group of women. When I got home, Kaitlynn had to get ready for preschool. We packed her snack (chips and an apple) in her lunch box. Kaitlynn was doing something while getting ready for school and I said something to her. She told me to "watch and learn!" Where do they get this stuff from?

While Kaitlynn was in preschool, I picked up MawMaw. MawMaw and I went to get Kaitlynn's special drink for her, then picked her up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "Making Friends," had a puppet show - Five Little Ducks, practiced writing their names in salt trays, went outside to play on the playground and had Yoga. They learned a new pose - the Down Dog.

Dance, Preschool, Swim, LLL Class

Tuesday, October 12th I had an early morning doctor appointment then I babysat Max. Kaitlynn had dance class. There were 5 kids in class (1 was making up a class from Saturday). The girls looked through books and picked out the costumes they liked for their recital. After dance we went home to eat lunch and get ready for preschool. We packed her lunch (apple, doritos and granola bar) in her lunch box. We got to preschool a little early, so Kaitlynn had a few minutes to play in the Commons area. Kaitlynn received her Scholastic books that we ordered.

When I picked Kaitlynn up, the daily schedule said they read "Friends at School," worked with a friend to make colored glue projects: 1 person squeezed the glue and 1 person spun the lazy susan, they went outside to play on the playground and in music they sang "I like somebody." We received a memo that later in the month the kids would be receiving hearing screenings. They had a special helper in class (an older lady).

Ms. Maureen said that one of the stories they read in class talked about the kids painting the fence at school, so the kids asked if they could do that too. They asked the director and she said the kids could. They had fun painting the fence surrounding the playground. Kaitlynn had red paint in her hair! She kept saying she had chickenpox because Ms. Maureen told her she had red spots (paint) all over her and that sometimes when people have red spots on them they have chickenpox.

Kaitlynn got her special drink and we went home to rest before swim class.
At swim class there4 were 6 kids and 2 instructors. The kids dove for rings, poured water over their heads with a cup, popped the bubble with their noses, played red light/green light, then all the kids seemed to need to take a potty break before heading to the deeper pool. The used a noodle to swim with an instructor, Tori used Kaitlynn to be the demo for floating and then the kids got to play in the shallow water (going down the slide - which Kaitlynn refuses to do anymore).

After swim class, I took Kaitlynn home, where she and Dave hung out while I attended LLL class.

Stuckmeyer's and Fright Fest

Sunday October 10th, Dave, Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I met Hanna and Adam at Stuckmeyer's. We had a fun time. Kaitlynn had fun playing with Hanna and Adam on the slides. Kaitlynn helped us all find our way out of the maze. She enjoyed some kettle corn. Kaitlynn and Hanna made a couple Halloween crafts: door knob hanger and a bookmark. We picked out a big pumpkin and took some photos. Kaitlynn had 9 pumpkins now with the purchase of the big one.

We went by to pick up Brandon and we went to Bread Co for lunch before heading to Six Flag's Fright Fest. Kaitlynn wore her costume, Alice in Wonderland. Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I did the Trick or Treat trail first and then rode the moon cars while Dave, Hanna, Adam and Brandon went to ride some rides. We went to the Palace for a show but it kind of freaked Kaitlynn out. Kaitlynn and Brandon rode some rides and played at Bugs Bunny's fort. Somehow we all lost our minds and decided to get on the train. Of course we ended up sitting near the front and it ended up being too scary for Kaitlynn and Brandon.

On our way out of the park, this lady offered to buy Kaitlynn a ball that she wanted. I was so shocked, I didn't know what to say. It was very sweet and nice of the lady.
In the parking lot, Kaitlynn and Brandon were playing with the basketball he won and Kaitlynn fell down right on her face and scraped her face up. She was OK, but had a scrape above her left eyebrow and eye.
We had a fun day at Stuckmeyer's and Fright Fest!

On Monday, I had a doctor appointment. Then I babysat Max. Later that evening Kaitlynn decorated (put stickers) on the mini pumpkins we purchased for all of her teachers (at school and dance). She also decorated brown lunch bags for each of the pumpkins and an apple to go in.

"Community" Christmas Episode Review

NBC's "Community," a comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College.

At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group that eventually learns more about themselves than their course work.

Also among the series stars are: comedy legend Chevy Chase ("Chuck") as Pierce, a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom; Gillian Jacobs ("The Book of Daniel") as Britta, the 20-something dropout with something to prove; Yvette Nicole Brown ("Rules of Engagement") as Shirley, a sassy middle-aged divorcée; Danny Pudi ("Greek") as Abed, a pop culture junkie; Alison Brie ("Mad Men") as Annie, a high-strung perfectionist; Donald Glover ("30 Rock") as Troy, a former high school football star trying to find his way, and Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") as Señor Chang.

The "Community" Christmas episode, "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" is one everyone will be talking about! In this special stop motion animation episode, the meaning of Christmas is lost and Abed's intense fixation on Christmas concerns the group.

I have to admit that I have not previously watched an episode of "Community." The hit cast is what drew me to this project of reviewing the Christmas Episode. Fans of "Community", these actors and stop motion animation will love this episode. Having never watched an episode of "Community" I felt a little lost, however there were several scenes that were comical. "Community" airs on NBC Thursday evenings at 8/7c.

Jumpin' Pumpkin Jamboree and Pumpkin Farm

On Saturday, October 9th, Dave, Kaitlynn and I met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna at Circle K to drive out to the Grafton Eckert's for the Jumpin' Pumpkin Jamboree. At Circle K, Kaitlynn said "It's a beautiful day!" and indeed it was! Hanna and Adam met us at Eckert's. We had a fun time, but boy was it warm. It seems so weird to be wearing short sleeves and shorts to pick pumpkins in October, but that's what you get in St. Louis.

Kaitlynn picked 4 pumpkins and we picked more apples! We had a fun time at Grafton Eckert's- apple & pumpkin picking!

Hanna and Adam went with Dave, Kaitlynn and I to get lunch. Then we went to Rombach's Farm. We were there for about an hour, but had a good time.

After Rombach's, Dave, Kaitlynn and I went to church. The "Unfrozen: How the prayer of Jesus changes us" series continued. We talked about what it really meant when Jesus taught us to pray "Your kingdom come, Your will be done."
Kaitlynn attended her class and they learned that the Bible says "Jesus loves everyone!" They heard the story of Jesus and the little children (Matthew 19, Mark 10, Luke 18).

Belleville Eckerts

Friday, October 8th, I didn't babysit Max. I had a doctor appointment that morning. Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's. Later we went to Best Buy where Dave met us and we purchased a new digital camera. We got a Nikon Coolpix. I am so happy to have a camera again!!!!!!

Kaitlynn, Dave, MawMaw and I went to Eckert's to pick apples. Suncrisp apples are delicious!

We had a yummy dinner at the Country Restaurant and then shared some dessert at the frozen custard shop!

Earlier, Kaitlynn was playing with my Halloween bracelet and she said she had a "brother named Cassie and when she goes to her Bible study at church she wears her Halloween bracelet." She is so funny and has such an imagination! And a brother named Cassie? Seriously!!!!

8th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, October 6th Kaitlynn slept in until 10. She must have had a dream that her and I were in jail forever because when she woke up she kept talking about us "going to jail forever." I think she gets it from a few Spongebob Squarepants episodes.
I babysat Max. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (granola bar and popcorn) in her lunch box. While Kaitlynn was in preschool, I went to the gym and worked out for an hour. Working out went much better than the day before. I enjoy getting to watch my soap operas uninterrupted while exercising. I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "The Mummy Book," made playdough faces, scooped and poured rice at the sensory table, went outside and played on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Sticky Bubble Gum."

We went to Circle K and then to MawMaw's. When we arrived at MawMaw's we met her new dog, Miss Daisy. Daisy is a Pomeranian and is only a few months old. Kaitlynn was instantly in love with her.

On Thursday, I attended my Women's Bible Study. I love the ladies in my Thursday group! They are just awesome! When I got home, Kaitlynn had to get ready for preschool. We packed her snack (popcorn and goldfish). Kaitlynn played in the Commons for awhile before preschool started. While she was in preschool, I worked out. I picked MawMaw up from work and then we picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "Families" and wrote down what each child likes to do with his / her family, scooped and poured rice at the sensory table, played a button matching game, went outside to play on the playground and learned Yoga (tree pose, mountain pose, cat pose, cobra pose, and bumblebee breath).

We went to Circle K and then back home so I could call At&t over issues with my phone (again)! This time it decided to not make anymore calls! I ended up having to go to the mall and purchase a temporary Go phone while waiting for a new replacement.

PawPaw Dado's Birthday and Picture Day

October 5th my dad would've been 66 years old. I really think that our experience at our current church has helped me to be more comfortable / accepting of my dad's death. Don't get me wrong, I still miss him and think about him everyday. I know that he is in a better place and is without pain. That is comforting.

Tuesday, I watched Max. Kaitlynn had dance class. There were 5 girls in the dance class because 1 was doing a make up class from Saturday. Ms. Julie gave Kaitlynn a red bracelet from Eckert's. She was in heaven!

After dance, we rushed home to eat lunch and get ready for preschool. We packed snack (raisins and oyster crackers) in her lunch box. We needed a little extra time to get ready because it was Picture Day. Kaitlynn's first Picture Day at school! Dave and I scoured through the picture packages the days before since you had to order the package before picture day. Kaitlynn looked adorable! She wore the same dress that she wore her first day of school. Actually, it wasn't the same one. I had to go buy another one because that one was too short for her. This girl is tall!

While Kaitlynn was in school, Dave and I had an Exercise Date. We met at C.F. and exercised together, then went to my doctor appointment. Dave picked Kaitlynn up from preschool and I met them there. The daily schedule said they read "The Family Book", made family portraits and construction paper frames at the art center, had their school pictures taken, played outside on the playground and during music sang / listened to "Sticky Sticky Bubble Gum."

Dave, Kaitlynn and I went to get drinks. Then Kaitlynn and I went home to rest until swim class.
Kaitlynn attended her 5th level 1 / tadpole swim class. Then I attended Love, Limits and Laughter, while Kaitlynn and Dave spent time together.

Grant's Farm and Monday Makeover

Sunday October 3rd, we went to church. We started a new series called Unfrozen: How the prayer of Jesus changes us. This week was about the opening words of The Lord's Prayer. Kaitlynn attended the KidzMinistry.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Grant's Farm. Tia, Annabelle and Alayna met us there. It was a special day at Grant's Farm. On the tram ride, we found out that they were doing free pictures with a Clydesdale (as long as you had your own camera) and free Budweiser in the aluminum bottles (as well as the usual free 2 samples per person 21 and over).
This is not the greatest video, but there is a cute shot of Kaitlynn and Annabelle. The Flip software is still not fixed so I can't get still pictures from the video.
Here is a video of the Clydesdale we had our picture taken with. We have a video shot of us in front of the Clydesdale, but again I can't get a still picture out of it because the Flip software is not working.
Kaitlynn and Annabelle making wishes in the fountain!
Kaitlynn and Annabelle
Kaitlynn and Annabelle brushing the goats after feeding them.
Riding the carousel
After the carousel ride and looking at some animals (and petting a box turtle that one of the workers had out for the kids to see and pet), the girls had a snowcone. They no longer have Kaitlynn's favorite, Tiger's Blood, so she just got a red one, which I think was strawberry or something. It was a gorgeous day! Kaitlynnn had so much fun with Annabelle!

Monday, the 4th I babysat Max. He went with Kaitlynn and I to Monday Makeover at church. We had a huge group - 4 moms and 9 kids. It was chaos!

Later, Kaitlynn attended a doctor's appointment with me. We had Chinese for dinner and my fortune said "an unexpected event will soon make your life more exciting." Dave had a late softball game, so Kaitlynn and I didn't go.

Family Circus and Fall Fest

Saturday, October 2nd, Kaitlynn and I went to the Family Christian Store for the Veggie Tales Premiere. Kaitlynn colored some pictures while I looked around. She also got a couple Veggie Tales' balloons. We went to another store before coming home. Kaitlynn got the Sleeping Beauty barbie.

Dave, Kaitlynn and I went to Morning Star Church for the Family Circus. It was a fun, free event. Kaitlynn bounced in a bounce house, petted the animals at the petting zoo,

rode a pony, participated in a book walk a few times, played the duck pond game, played the lollipop pull game, got attendance / game prizes, did a craft (made a star) while I waited in line for her to do a tye-dyed shirt and
made a tye-dyed shirt. We had a great time and wished we had arrived earlier than we did!

After the circus, we picked up MawMaw and went to Concord Baptist Church's Fall Festival. Kaitlynn checked out the fire truck and didn't want to leave it. She normally doesn't take as much interest in fire trucks.

She also liked the ambulance. She really enjoyed exploring the fire truck and the ambulance and asking questions about them.
She had a balloon animal made. She asked for a bunny and they said they couldn't make it. Then she asked for a goat, but they couldn't do that either. So she settled for a brown dog.
Kaitlynn had her face painted like a dog as well, at least that's what it was supposed to be!

We ate some lunch.
She rode a pony.
She played some games and won lots of candy. We had a fun time, it was just really chilly.

Afterwards we went to dinner at Pasta House.

Camping Out

The last week of September I had nothing but trouble with the new Flipshare software (for the Flip Video). I have been emailing with the Flipshare support people and they have yet to fix the issue. I downloaded their newest software and since then I have not been able to view any of my current or past videos. I can't do anything with the videos except receive error messages. It sucks!!!! I do not recommend downloading the new software. Bad idea!

Friday, October 1st, I babysat Max. Kaitlynn and I didn't do much. I had a quick doctor's appointment. While at the appointment, Kaitlynn and Dave put up the tent in the backyard for our camp out. Hanna came over. She cut Dave's hair, trimmed Kaitlynn's bangs and cut my bangs (side swept bangs). We grilled out. Adam came over. We hung outside by the fire (in the firepit) and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. We also had pumpkin beer. It was my first time drinking pumpkin beer. It was pretty good!

After Hanna and Adam left, Kaitlynn, Dave and I dressed in our warm pajamas and went to bed in our sleeping bags in the tent. It went really well! Kaitlynn was asleep in no time! The ground was really hard, though. We need an air mattress for next time!!

7th Week in Preschool

Wednesday September 29th, I didn't babysit Max because he was sick. Kaitlynn and I relaxed, she took a bath, got ready for preschool and packed her snack. We got to preschool a little early, so she could play in the Commons area.

I picked up Kaitlynn from preschool. Miss M said that Tuesday Kaitlynn wanted to be in front of the book the teacher was reading, but the kids behind her couldn't see so they had her sit down. She almost immediately started playing around with other kids near her. Miss M said that this could be a focus / attention thing. She said it's really good if Kaitlynn already knows what she needs to be able to pay attention / focus on something. We are keeping track of this due to the original vision screening in August (even though the school nurse re-screened her and had no concerns).

We got our usual drinks and went to MawMaw's. Kaitlynn fell asleep in the car, which she typically does since Tuesdays are so busy, so by Wednesday she is wore out. When she woke up we went to dinner, which was not a good idea because she had a major temper tantrum at the end of dinner.

Thursday the 30th, I attended my Women's Bible Study at church. When I got home, I got Kaitlynn ready for preschool and packed her snack. While Kaitlynn was in preschool, I toured Club Fitness and Gold's Gym. I picked up MawMaw, so she could go with me to pick up Kaitlynn from preschool.

We picked Kaitlynn up. The daily schedule said they read "The One and Only Special Me", sorted bears by color in the water table, used the puppet stage to tell the story of "Five Little Monkeys", went outside to play on the playground and did yoga (learned the bumble bee breath).

We got our drinks and went home. Kaitlynn didn't want to leave the house, so I just picked up dinner and then later some ice cream. She was perfectly content relaxing on the couch (with MawMaw).

Dave signed a contract for us to join C.F. He got "special" pricing through his work. He has been really good about working out, going like 2 - 5 times per week.

Busy Day Just Got Busier

Tuesday, September 28th, I watched Max. He went with us to Kaitlynn's dance class. It was observation week. I kind of felt bad because Kaitlynn was the only girl who didn't have other people (besides the usual person) there to watch. She didn't mind though / seem to notice. She did, however, notice that the blinds were open and that all these people were starring at them. Between looking at herself in the mirror and looking at the people watching her, she was a little distracted! Can't say I blame her!! It was super cute watching Kaitlynn during the observation class, although because she was distracted, I can't say it was a good guide as to what she has learned so far.

We came home for lunch, got dressed for preschool and packed a snack. When I dropped Kaitlynn off, in her cubbie was information about her first Scholastic Book Order and Picture Day. Picture Day was October 5th and the Book Order was due the 6th. I was so excited about both of these things!

I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "Cookies Week", started working in journal writing groups, made a cellophane collage at the project table, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Mat Man." They worked together to draw Mat Man.

We went to Circle K for our usual drinks and then came home to rest.

Kaitlynn attended swim class. Both instructors were present and 6 kids were in the class. They dove for rings, poured a cup of water on their heads and popped the bubble in the shallow water. They went to the deeper water and swam with a noodle, floated and jumped into the water (to an instructor). They went back over to the shallow water to slide down the slide. Kaitlynn hit her knee while going up the ladder.

Dave came home with 2 week trial passes to Club Fitness for both of us!

Kaitlynn and Dave spent time together while I attended a class at the ECC called Love, Limits and Laughter (for children 3-5 years of age). It's a 4 week class.

Six Flags and Sugar Creek Park

Sunday, September 26th Kaitlynn, Dave, MawMaw and I met Tia, Annabelle and Alayna at McDonald's for an early lunch and then went to Six Flags. We had free tickets with our Season Passes that Tia and Annabelle used. It was a chilly Fall day, but we had a lot of fun!
Kaitlynn and Tweety Bird
Kaitlynn and Daffy Duck
Kaitlynn and Annabelle on the Screaming Eagle seat
The girls rode the airplanes
and the Boogeyman's Twister.
They rode Elmer's Ghost-Blasters and then went to play on the playground / treehouse area.
They went down the slide
and climbed.
Kaitlynn met Granny.
We rode the train around Six Flags.
The girls rode the Skeletons Playground.
We all rode Marvins Alien Invasion.
The girls rode the Black Cat Forest, which Kaitlynn didn't like.
As Dave was taking Kaitlynn and Annabelle to ride the carousel, Kaitlynn fell and hit the platform at the carousel. She was OK, but sat out the first carousel ride.
Then she went on with Dave, Annabelle, Tia and Alayna.

We rode the Scooby Doo ride, which Kaitlynn also doesn't like. It's too scary of a ride for a preschooler.

Monday, the 27th I babysat Max. Kaitlynn and I delivered Avon and then took a nap. Dave mowed the lawn and Kaitlynn played outside. We went to Sugar Creek Park with one of the dogs, Bailey. Kaitlynn had so much fun walking Bailey on the leash, especially at the playground (when other kids / people were interested in Bailey). After playing on the playground for a bit, we went for a walk and then came back to the playground. On the walk, Kaitlynn and Bailey ran ahead, Bailey saw another dog and got loose from Kaitlynn. Dave was able to catch up and grab Bailey's leash.

We came home and ate dinner, then Dave went to his softball game.

Rombach's and Church

Saturday, September 25th after leaving Millstadt Eckert's, we picked up lunch and went to MawMaw's. She went with us to Rombach's Farm. We were there for about an hour.

We put Kaitlynn up on this tractor to take a picture and after we took her down, we noticed a sign placed on one side that said not to climb on. Ooops!

Walking through the pumpkin patch

Kaitlynn picked out a mini pumpkin that she wanted and carried the basket with MawMaw's gourds. We had a fun time!

We headed to church after Rombach's closed. We got there a little early, so we sat outside.
Kaitlynn attended her class. Their lesson was "God helps me. The Bible has true stories." They heard the story of Joshua. God told Joshua to march around the walls of Jericho. They sang "B-I-B-L-E", "Happy Dance", "Thank You Lord" and "Shout Hooray."
This was the last in the Organic Christianity series and was about taking some crucial steps to making our faith organic. After the service different stations were set up for the 3 E's (Explore, Express, Experience) and for community. Handouts were given available on different Bible reading plans. We enjoyed some kettle corn made by one of our church families. It was delicious!

We went to Target and then to
Applebees for dinner. Kaitlynn had to bring in her Cinderella dolls to dinner, a late dinner. MawMaw spent the night at our house.

Apple Fest

Saturday, September 25th, Dave, Kaitlynn and I went to the Millstadt Eckert's for Apple Fest. Originally, we planned to go to the Grafton one, but the leaves hadn't changed enough to make the drive on the River Road beautiful. We had 2 coupons for free admission to the Millstadt farm so it only cost $8 for all 3 of us to get in.

Kaitlynn looking at the pumpkins
Riding the swings
Kaitlynn and I riding in the Spinning Apple
Airplane ride (this plane didn't have a wheel). Kaitlynn was so upset that she got stuck with this one. I agree that it was crummy!
Getting on the camel to ride all by herself! What a brave girl!!
Riding Sinbad the camel. Didn't realize how tall camels actually are until I saw my baby riding on one!
Pony ride. Kaitlynn asked the guy what the pony's name was but we couldn't understand him, even after we asked for clarification several times.
Riding a tricycle
Playing on the green tractorFeeding the buffalo. Kaitlynn didn't like their tongues.

Eating an apple
Picking Golden Delicious apples
Picking Red Delicious Apples
Kaitlynn rode the airplanes again, but this time we made sure she got one with a wheel. That really needs to be fixed. What kid wants to ride in a plane that is missing the wheel?
Getting ready to go through the Corn Maze
Kaitlynn paid for this mini pumpkin on her own. She went up to the cashier and asked her how much it was. She was so freaking cute! If I was the cashier I would have just given it to her! Melted my heart!

Grant's Farm Fun

Friday, September 24th, Kaitlynn and I met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna at Taco Bell for lunch. Kaitlynn and Annabelle were cracking us up. Kaitlynn asked Annabelle if she liked her hair. Annabelle, in the most excited voice ever, said she did. It was super cute! Before heading to Grant's Farm, Kaitlynn and I picked up MawMaw, so that she could go with us. Kaitlynn had to bring her (big) Cinderella doll in with her.
She had to sit next to Annabelle on the tram.
Kaitlynn and MawMaw fed the goats.
Kaitlynn and Annabelle brushed the goats.
They rode the carousel.
Had fun feeding the chickens.
Saw an owl
We went to the Bird Show. In the middle of the show, they asked for a volunteer and Kaitlynn raised her hand and was picked. This other older girl thought they picked her, so they let her come up too. They were going to let Kaitlynn stay out for the next act, but she followed the other girl out.
Kaitlynn wanted me to take her picture in front of this.
The girls got their snowcones and soon after it was time to leave because the farm was closing.

Later Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I ran some errands and ate dinner.

6th Week of Preschool and More Bad Driving

Wednesday, the 22nd I watched Max. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool after Max left. We packed her snack (popcorn and a granola bar) in her lunch box and headed to school.

While Kaitlynn was in school, I had a doctor's appointment. I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "We Are All Alike, We Are All Different," stretched and cut GAK, used stencils at the writing center, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Mat Man."

I took Kaitlynn to get her "special drink" and then we went to MawMaw's, where we went to dinner and took her to get a flu shot.

This was just a week of bad drivers on the rode. On the way home from MawMaw's, this red truck ran a yield sign and almost hit us. I was furious because as if it wasn't bad enough that he almost hit my car with my child in it, he decided to be a smart *** and act like he was going to actually hit the car (ram right into it). I have ran into some real PSYCHOS on the rode. All I have to say is, if you dont know what YIELD means, then you shouldn't be driving!

Thursday, the 23rd I attended my Women's Bible Study at church. When I got home, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. We packed her snack (popcorn and goldfish) and headed to school. Preschool sent home an Emergency Phone List for the class.

While she was in preschool, I picked up MawMaw and we did some shopping. We picked up Kaitlynn. The daily schedule said they read "Faces" by Shelley Rotner, added details to their face paintings by gluing eyes, nose, mouth and hair, worked together to build a Target store in the block center, went outside to play on the playground and drew a picture of Mat Man while singing his song.

Kaitlynn got a "special drink" and we ran some errands and ate dinner.

I can't believe this was Kaitlynn's 6th week of preschool. Time is flying by!

Bad Driving and Flies

Tuesday, September 21st, I babysat Max. Max went with us to Kaitlynn's dance class. This was Kaitlynn's 3rd week (actually 3rd class) of dance. She still really enjoys it and I love watching her. All of the girls are just so cute. I am so glad the class is so small, with only 4 students total. On the way to class, Kaitlynn had her little Princess Belle figurine and was talking about how Belle was a princess just like her and had the same hair color as her. I corrected her and explained that Belle had brown hair and she had blonde hair. I mentioned that Miss Julie (her dance teacher) has brown hair like Belle. After class, she said "Miss Julie has brown hair and dances with me. And she likes apples, apples, apples."

After dance, Kaitlynn talked me into taking her to McDonald's for lunch. We ran home to pack up her school clothes, snack (goldfish and raisins) in her lunch box and book bag and then went to McDonald's. She ate lunch, but didn't decide to play until she only had about 5-10 minutes left. She ended up meeting a friend that she didn't want to leave. I was eventually able to talk her into getting her clothes changed and leaving. We were a little late for preschool (about 5 minutes), but it worked out.

As I was heading back home with Max (to meet his mom), this white car totally cut me off. He was in the wrong lane and decided at the last minute he needed to be in my lane. No signal, no nothing, just swerved in front of me. I honked and he flipped me off! I have no idea how it was my fault that he almost missed his turn and cut me off, but for some reason he felt the need to flip me off. Why is it that when people cut you off or almost miss their turn, they flip you off or cuss you out? Hello people, watch the road and know where you are going! And it's not my fault, so don't flip me off or cuss me out. Psycho!!!!

While Kaitlynn was at preschool, I got some computer stuff done.

I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "It's Okay to be Different" by Todd Parr, scooped and shoveled glitter sand at the sensory table, began painting self-portraits, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Mat Man." We received the preschool September Newsletter, which mentioned that School Pictures would be taken in the next few weeks and also listed some of the classes favorite books / books that they are currently reading. Kaitlynn told me about David (a boy in her class) not liking school. She said Max (another boy in her class) threw sand in her hair and knocked her down. She also told me that Liam (yet another boy in her class) picked flowers off the trees. When I asked her if she ate her snack, she said "goldfish again?" I reminded her that that was one of the snacks she chose to bring. It was her choice, not mine.

On our way to get a special drink, Kaitlynn started freaking out because there was a fly in the car. She kept screaming and was hysterical because she was afraid it was going to bite her. I'm not sure who told her that flies bite, but I was not (and am still not) happy with that person. I spent 10 minutes trying to get the darn thing out of the car. I realize that some flies do bite, but I feel if someone is going to take the time to scare her (inform her), then they should take the time to help her figure out how to differentiate between the biters and non-biters and what to do when she sees one that does bite.

It was also Kaitlynn's 3rd week of Tadpole swimming class. There were 5 kids in her class. They worked on diving for rings, popping the bubble and pouring water over their head with a cup in the shallow water. In the deep water, they worked on swimming with a noodle, floating with a noodle, floating with the instructor and jumping in to the instructor.
For some reason Kaitlynn's swim top rode up above her tummy, so it looks like she has a bikini on. It's actually a tankini.
The parents of the other kids in her swim class are so friendly! I don't know what I enjoy more, watching Kaitlynn or talking to the other parents. Actually, I do enjoy watching Kaitlynn more, it's just an added bonus getting to talk to the other parents!

Kaitlynn showered and got dressed at Riverchase because we had dinner plans immediately after her class.
