17th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, December 8th, I babysat. This was the first day in a few weeks that Kaitlynn didn't receive her Zyrtec and in about a week that she didn't take Delsym. Hoping her behavior turns around! Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (pretzel sticks, raisins and 2 oatmeal cookies).

Kaitlynn's main teacher was sick so they had a sub. While Kaitlynn was in school, I had to get blood work, purchase the book for my Women's Group on Thursday and picked up MawMaw. We picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. She seemed to have a good day, but was tired. We went to get her special drink and ran a few errands. Kaitlynn fell asleep in the car and still slept when we carried her into the restaurant for dinner.
She has been so tired lately.

After dinner, Kaitlynn and MawMaw gave Daisy a bath.

Dave looked at a used mini van for us, but it had too many miles, wanted too much for it and wasn't the make and model we are really wanting. It definitely wasn't meant to be!

I was excited that I received my Etsy purchase already. It will be revealed soon!
We also received our first Christmas Card of the season. I was getting a little worried and wondering if we were on anyone's Christmas Card list!
I read the first chapter of I Quit, the book we are reading for my Women's Group.

Thursday, the 9th, I met my Women's Group. Most of us showed up, only 1 missing. It was a great time of catching up and fellowship with these wonderful women. Kim is so sweet, she gave us all Godiva chocolate and Kathy gave us all a lip balm that is all natural.

I met Kaitlynn and Dave after that to run an errand. Dave got Kaitlynn ready for preschool and they packed her snack before meeting me. After dropping Kaitlynn off at preschool, Dave and I went to lunch. 2 of Kaitlynn's teachers were sick and a sub filled in for them.

After preschool, Kaitlynn fell asleep and missed her swim class. This Thursday swim class is just not working out. She has missed 2 out of the 5 classes so far!

We mailed out our Christmas Cards and I was so happy to get these adorable makeup bags that I ordered from Artscow for Christmas gifts.
Aren't they cute?

Dave signed up for a half marathon in the Spring to raise money for Living Water International (the team is through our church). I am so proud of him! He has already started running / training on his own. Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water" — the gospel of Jesus Christ — which alone satisfies the deepest thirst.

Kaitlynn's extreme hyperactivity seemed to be getting better since off that medicine!

Dance, Preschool and Winter Wonderland

Tuesday, December 7th, Kaitlynn had dance class. After dance, we went home to have lunch and Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. We packed her snack (raisins and pretzel sticks). Kaitlynn had a December Healthy Kids Newsletter in her cubie on sleep.

I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool and Ms. Maureen said Kaitlynn had a hard time focusing in class and was very sleepy. This has been Kaitlynn's behavior in dance and preschool the last several weeks. It's been completely strange behavior for her. Ms. Maureen said she couldn't sit still during circle time / story time / group time. She would start spinning on the carpet or lay down. She even tried laying on the table during snack time. Can I say, her behavior was completely off. Ms. Maureen and I talked about Kaitlynn being on children's Zyrtec (liquid form) and children's Delsym (per her doctor's / NP's orders). She suggested I call the doctor about Kaitlynn's behavior and whether it could be a side effect from the medications.
The daily schedule said they read Who Can Catch the Gingerbread Man? together on the pocket chart, added characters from The Gingerbread Man to the block center, played in the gym and in music listened / sang to "Gingerbread Village."

When we got to the car, I called the doctor's office and spoke with one of the nurses. She kind of ticked me off because she said that she had never heard of a link / behavior side effect from Zyrtec or Delsym (which she is wrong about. In talking to people, I have had many people tell me there is a link or possibility). She said Kaitlynn was probably just not feeling well, but if I thought these medications were affecting her then stop giving them to her. I was so mad when I got off the phone with her. After she said that, I just hung up. I'm not sure if I was being sensitive or just feeling defeated. I just didn't know what to do about her recent behavior and was at a loss because it was so out of character for her. And if I stopped giving her the medications, what the heck was I supposed to do about her allergies and cough. When she starts coughing, I always get fearful that she will get Croup again. I decided to stop the Zyrtec and Delsym and see how her behavior was after a week or so off them.

Kaitlynn, Dave and I went to MawMaw's where Hanna and Adam met us. Hanna cut Kaitlynn's bangs. They grow so fast. Then we all went to the MLM Winter Wonderland Carriage Ride in Tilles Park. We had never done the carriage ride to see the lights in the park. It was beautiful, but cold. The horses names were Buzz and Woody!
After the carriage ride, we went to Denny's for some hot chocolate / cappuccino.

St. Nick's

Sunday, December 5th, we didn't know go to church because we were extremely exhausted from the 4th. I miss when we don't go to church, but like being able to watch the message on podcast.
Before Kaitlynn went to bed, we forgot to have her put her stocking out for St. Nick. So Dave and I just hung it on her bedroom door.

Monday, the 6th, when Kaitlynn woke up, we told her that St. Nick had left her some things in her stocking.
She got a pair of pjs, a couple pairs of fuzzy slipper socks, body paints and a letter from Santa.
Later that morning, Dave and Kaitlynn were in the living room. He fell asleep and Kaitlynn went in the kitchen to try to make herself some eggs. We found 2 eggs cracked on the kitchen floor and the fridge open.
I babysat. Kaitlynn and I picked MawMaw up from work and took her to a doctor appointment. We had dinner with MawMaw.

Breakfast with Santa, Tangled and Las Posadas

Saturday, December 4th, we went to the Manchester Breakfast with Santa. It was a fun morning with exception to the breakfast, but the cost was very minimal. The kids got a craft to do there or take home, a silly bands bracelet and mini coloring book. Kaitlynn had to bring Dalmation (her dog from the AB Tour). She was a little nervous about seeing Santa, but got over it and stood next to him. She didn't want to sit on his lap. After her turn was over, she wanted to do it again. I would call that a success!

We went to MawMaw's and then to Wehrenberg for their Cans Festival (you bring in so many cans of food for movie tickets). We got tickets to see Tangled. We went to lunch first and then came back to see the movie. MawMaw fell asleep during most of it. Kaitlynn said the movie was "awesome!" I thought it was cute.

We went to St. Charles' Christmas Traditions for Las Posadas, a re-enactment of the Spanish tradition finds Mary and Joseph looking for shelter. It was really neat and emotional, but freezing cold out!

AB Brewery Tour and Lights Display

Friday, December 3rd, I babysat. Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's. We had lunch and ran some errands. Dave met us over at Best Buy where we got a new digital camera. It's a Nikon Coolpix.

We went to Anheuser-Busch for a Brewery Tour and Lights Display.

You were able to take complimentary photos with a clydesdale, which was pretty cool!

After the Tour and Lights Display, we went to the mall where we went into Children's Place, B&BW and had dinner.

We had a great night!

16th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, December 1st, Kaitlynn was still up at midnight. I don't know what was going on with that girl. She just couldn't / didn't want to sleep. She was just be up playing. Makes for a crabby girl the rest of the day!

I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (apple and popcorn). While she was in preschool, I went to get blood work done, then picked MawMaw up from work. I didn't get to attend the Holiday Boutique at her school, because I actually forgot about it before preschool and after I dropped her off I needed to get to the lab.

We picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they reread The Gingerbread Man and read the gingerbread man's words aloud as a class, played a Gingerbread man path game, made their own versions of the story at the writing center, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Do You Know the Gingerbread Man?"

I was happy when I opened the mail and saw our family picture from Kaitlynn's dedication at our church on Mother's Day! I've been waiting to see this picture.

Thursday, the 2nd, I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (pretzels and raisins). While she was in preschool, the Nurse Practitioner from her doctor's office called and said there was no infection in her urine. She said it might just be a viral infection in her stomach that just cleared up on it's own since she was doing better. I talked to her about kidney issues in the family and asked if this could be what is going on with Kaitlynn. She said typically those issues are a ureteral reflux and not hereditary. We agreed to keep Kaitlynn on children's Zyrtec (which she's been taking for a few weeks to a month) and to start her on children's Delsym for her cough.
I finally got the Christmas Cards ordered too. We liked 2 designs so much that we ended up ordering 2 different cards. We ordered them from VistaPrint and were very happy with them. They were on a card stock paper.

I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they learned a new pose in Yoga (the bridge), played "What Am I?" - a game of clues, continued writing Gingerbread stories at the writing center, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Do You Know the Gingerbread Man?" and "Shakin' Everywhere."

in her new winter coat and boots (that MawMaw bought).

Kaitlynn rested before swim class. I tried to organize her bedroom and ended up making it a bigger mess! How does that happen? Kaitlynn attended swim class. She didn't want to go at first, which was weird, but she was just tired. We picked up McDonald's for dinner on the way home and she was asleep by about 8:30PM.

I made my first Etsy purchase. More on that later.

Christmas Card Pictures

On Tuesday, November 30th, Kaitlynn tried on both of her Christmas dresses so I could take pictures of her in front of our Christmas tree. We tried to take pictures of her with each dog, but Bailey was the only one that would sit still for pictures. Some of the pictures are funny of Kaitlynn or Bailey, but most of them are cute!

Wrapping Up November

Saturday, November 27th, we got some really good news. I will share in a December post. Later, Kaitlynn saw a picture of her friend Ella's baby sister (on the Thank You card for her birthday gift). She said, "It's baby Trice! It's wonderful!" It was so cute! That evening, she watched Shrek. It was only her second time seeing that movie. The first time she watched it was on the 19th. We tried to get her to watch it before, but she never would. Now she likes it.

Sunday the 28th, we attended church. We talked about Advent Conspiracy and how Christmas can (still) change the world.
Kaitlynn went to her class where they learned "God gives us everything. God gives us our food." They read the story of Elijah and the widow (again) from 1 Kings 17:7-16 and sang "Thank You Lord."

We went to MawMaw's. MawMaw and I went shopping while Kaitlynn was at her house napping with Dave. We went to Family Christian Bookstore, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Circle of Knowledge and Toys R Us. At FCS I bought the Little People's Nativity set and at Circle of Knowledge I bought an Elf on a Shelf.
We went back to MawMaw's and all of us went to the mall. Dave and I picked out our yearly ornament.
This isn't the best picture of the ornament, but it's the only one I took.

Monday, the 29th, I babysat. We gave Kaitlynn her Little People's Nativity set.
She really enjoyed playing with it. I think it also helped her learn the story better.
Kaitlynn went with me while I had to get some blood work done. I finished reading the book "Have A New Kid by Friday" and was not impressed. The more I thought about using these tactics on Kaitlynn, my preschooler, the more frustrated I got that I wasted 2 days on reading this book. Maybe some of the tactics would work on older kids, but I just don't know if I buy into any of them.

Tuesday, the 30th, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. It was observation week. Dave, MawMaw, Hanna and Adam came to watch. Kaitlynn has been nervous about observation week and doesn't like all the people starring at her. She didn't participate too much, but was still as cute as ever. Seriously, don't we all have days where we just don't want to participate or something (such as people looking at us) throws us off and makes us uncomfortable / nervous.

All of us went to Burger King for lunch. After lunch, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. We had already packed her snack (apple and pretzels).

When we got to preschool, Kaitlynn showed me her picture on the wall. They were to draw a picture of something they were thankful for. She drew a stop sign.

When we went to the bathroom for Kaitlynn to wash her hands, she started saying that her vagina was hurting. We went into her classroom, so I could tell her teachers what was going on and that I was going to take her back home. She kept saying she didn't hurt anymore because she wanted to stay, but I could tell that she was still hurting. We had to bribe her and tell her if school was still open after we went to the doctor's I would bring her back. I'm glad she loves school that much. Before leaving, we received a December / January Preschool Newsletter and thank you cards from Ms. Angela and Ms. Maureen for the Thanksgiving treats.

MawMaw went with Kaitlynn and me to the doctor. As we were walking into the building, Kaitlynn saw this boy with his mom and asked if he was there because his "gina" hurt too. It was so funny! Thankfully she asked that to me and not him or his mom. We saw the nurse practitioner. Kaitlynn had to urinate in a cup. They thought she had an infection but said the culture looked clean, but they would send it to the lab. The NP checked her out and couldn't find anything wrong. She said that maybe Kaitlynn is dry and suggested using an A&D ointment. Kaitlynn was so mad that she wasn't able to go back to school (since it was too late).

Black Friday Shopping

Thursday, November 25th, MawMaw and I decided last minute to go out shopping for Black Friday. Dave and Jeff stayed at MawMaw's to watch Kaitlynn. We left around 9:30 / 9:45PM to get to Toys R Us since the doors opened around 10PM. We couldn't believe the parking lot and then the line to get in. The line was wrapped around the back of the store at least. There was no way we were waiting outside in that cold night in that long of a line. We decided to go to WalMart while we let the line die down. We were at WalMart for awhile and then went back. The parking lot was better, but the line was still outrageous. We decided to head over to Denny's for some hot chocolate / cappuccino. Hanna and Adam ended up meeting us there. They went with us back over to Toys R Us and the line was gone, at this point it was midnight or after (on the 26th). We got most of the things we were going for and found a pretty short line! Got lucky there! Hanna and Adam went home. MawMaw and I decided to go have a snack at Steak n Shake. We went to one, but the had a skeleton crew working and no one was being waited on, so we left and went to a different one. We were the only ones in the other location. Funny how that works. Our plan was to go to Target when they opened. We went and got good parking. People were in tents outside the store, which is just crazy to me. We decided that it would take a while for them to let all the people waiting outside the store in that we would just go to Macy's. We got our shopping done there and headed back to Target. Had no problem getting the stuff we wanted from there, but the check out line - oh my! It was ridiculous. It was the longest wait ever! We went to WalMart where we finished up our shopping. We were definitely pooped and had shopped til we were ready to drop! We picked up breakfast from Hardees for everyone and went back to MawMaw's.

I couldn't believe I was out shopping on Black Friday. I really had no intentions of going. I knew my mom wanted too, but I really wasn't into it until I started looking at the sale ads. Plus I was feeling a little better. So I decided what the heck. We used to go Black Friday shopping. It ended up being successful and was great mother / daughter time!

After we ate breakfast, Dave, Kaitlynn and I went home. I slept the rest of the day. It really took a lot out of me.

MawMaw bought Kaitlynn a Baby Alive doll (the one that you feed baby food and it wets the diaper). Kaitlynn requested that we buy her a doll while out shopping. Anyway, it was so funny when I asked Kaitlynn her baby's name. She said, "Baby Gobbles!"

Later on Friday, Kaitlynn saw our wedding picture and asked if she could go there. I told her sure it was a church and that we would probably take her to that church someday. She said "I want to get married." Um, yeah, your way too young for that kid!

Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 25th, we went to MawMaw's. Hanna and Adam came over before she had to go to work. She trimmed Kaitlynn's hair while MawMaw and I cooked the food. Denise, Dan and Brandon came over too. Kaitlynn hid under the counter in the kitchen, where MawMaw and I were cooking, most of the time that Dan was there. She just doesn't like him. As a mom, I think it is important to teach your children to listen to that inner voice or inner feeling. If you don't feel comfortable around someone, trust your instincts. It's better to be safe. I don't want her to be afraid to act on her instincts because she might hurt someone's feelings. I think it will save her from a lot of trouble. We never force her to like someone, hug someone, etc. no matter who they are.
We also went to my grandma's. It is bitter sweet going there. She is my dad's mom and with him being gone it's tough to go down there, but also I guess I long for it too (as a way to help remember him).
The last picture of Kaitlynn cracks me up. We wanted to get her out of her skirt, so she didn't get it too dirty and all I had were these pink tight pants. Funny!

12th Week of Dance and 15th Week of Preschool

Monday, November 22nd, I babysat.
I found Kaitlynn laying under the Christmas tree.
Later, we took MawMaw to a doctor appointment.

Tuesday, the 23rd, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. She took Mrs. B and Ms. Julie a loaf of pumpkin bread and a half dozen pumpkin muffins each, along with a Halloween / Thanksgiving card.

After dance, we came home for lunch, got ready for preschool and packed her snack (pretzels and an apple). We took the 2 teachers and 2 assistants in Kaitlynn's classroom plus the speech therapist (who doesn't work with Kaitlynn but spends time in the classroom) each a loaf of bread, half a dozen muffins and a Halloween / Thanksgiving card. Do the teachers really eat the baked goods brought in? I think I would if I was a teacher. Dave teased me that I did all that baking just to have the teachers throw it all away. I hope not, but if they did that's fine too.
Kaitlynn had a good day at school.
Kaitlynn didn't have preschool the rest of the week due to Thanksgiving break.

Wednesday, the 24th, Kaitlynn and I just hung around the house, rested and played with her toys. While I was resting, Kaitlynn and I were talking. I asked her how many kids she wanted to have when she grows up. She said she wanted to have 5 kids! Big family! I got such a kick out of that and thought it was so cute! I love my little girl! I wasn't feeling well (that's the reason we were resting). I had a cough and a horrible headache. Thankfully, we had cough medicine in the house!

Nail Salon, Christmas Tree and MawMaw's Birthday

Friday, November 19th, I babysat. Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's. We had a Girls Day at the nail salon! We all got manicures. Kaitlynn is such a girly girl, she had to wear her Cinderella dress up heels.

After Dave got home, I cleaned house and baked some brownies while Dave and Kaitlynn put up the Christmas tree.

Saturday, the 20th, we sat out our Boy Scout bag (Scouting for food). We took Bailey and Sassy to get their shots and nails trimmed. Kaitlynn fell in love with the dogs at PetCo that were up for adoption. Later we met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna at Yo My Goodness for some frozen yogurt. We didn't stay long because we hadn't had dinner yet. We picked up dinner and took it home. Later Dave went out and got us each a Starbucks holiday drink. Yum!

Sunday, the 21st, we went to church. We ended the Forgiveness: A Most Difficult Word series with a look at what it would mean for forgiveness to become a way of life for us.
Kaitlynn attended her class. They talked about "God gives us everything. God gives us our friends." They read the story of Elijah and the widow (1 Kings 17:7-16). They also sang "Thank You Lord."
We went to the Family Christian Store after church to finish getting MawMaw's birthday gift.

Kaitlynn decorated MawMaw's birthday card when we got home. We went to MawMaw's and took her out to dinner to Outback Steakhouse. Jeff went along with us. Kaitlynn had so much fun at dinner. It was a really good dinner!

After we got home I started on a baking bonanza! I made well over 10 loaves of pumpkin bread and about 80 pumpkin bread muffins. I made so much because Kaitlynn was giving a loaf of bread and half a dozen muffins to each of her teachers.
pumpkin bread muffins with walnuts.
pumpkin muffins
for the teachers.
Boy was I exhausted after all that baking!

14th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, November 17th, I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (pringles and raisins). While Kaitlynn was at preschool, I went for blood work and picked MawMaw up from work. We went to Circle K to get Kaitlynn's special drink before picking her up. While there, one of the workers that I see a lot from going to this particular location often was smoking a cigarette. Not a big deal you say? Well to me it was because she is pregnant and due in February. I was so shocked and stunned I didn't know what to do or say (if anything). I am not trying to be judgemental, but seriously the proven affects that has on an unborn baby are extreme and that is just selfish and appalling. I didn't say anything to her and just hurriedly got in my car. What would you have done? Would you have said something to her?

Anyway, we picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "Rabbit Stew" - a story about clever rabbits and a hungry dog, played Ice Cream Scoops of Fun - a matching game, illustrated story pages based on the book "Potluck," played outside on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Turkey Hunt." Kaitlynn picked 2 mittens off of the Giving Hands / Mittens Snowman. We ran some errands and went to the mall. Kaitlynn played in the play area for a bit after we ate dinner and did some shopping.

That evening I took some pictures of Lever, since I hadn't taken any since we first got him. I've tried to get pictures of him but he is one excited puppy and hard to photgraph. He is 9 months old and has grown quite a bit since we adopted him in the Spring.
He has such an adorable face!

Thursday, the 18th, I attended my Women's Group. Actually the Women's Bible Study I was in through church is over with, but the women in my group (at my table) decided to continue meeting once a month. This was our first meeting outside of the actual Bible Study. It was so great to see these women and catch up with them again. Only 1 of the ladies wasn't able to meet with us and 1 had left the group before the end of the Bible Study through church. We decided that we would start reading "I Quit" by Geri Scazzero. We are going to discuss 1 chapter a month.
Kim gave each of us these with different sayings on them. How sweet!

After the group, I went home to get Kaitlynn ready for preschool and packed her snack (pretzels and an apple).
Kaitlynn trying on her new hat and gloves for school.

While Kaitlynn was in school, I went grocery shopping. Thanksgiving grocery shopping completed!

The daily schedule said they read "Shake My Sillies Out," played Ice Cream Scoops of Fun, built with Scooby Doo characters in the block center, played outside on the playground and had Yoga.

She fell asleep when we got home and slept until almost 7PM. We missed swim class because I couldn't wake her up. She was so tired. Later she said she had a tummy ache.

I had been waiting for the Halloween / Thanksgiving cards I ordered to come. After checking my account to see the status of the order, I realized it was still in "my cart"! Duh! So I had to put a rush on them. Let that be a lesson to everyone. Check your carts when you order something to make sure the order went through!

On a good note, I bought Kaitlynn a preschooler's devotional and we have been reading it each night before bed. She seems to really like it!

Bring A Friend to Dance and Parent / Teacher Conference

Tuesday, November 16th, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. It was Bring A Friend to Dance Class week. Jess and Helen met us at the dance studio. The girls were so cute!
After dance we went to McDonald's for lunch. It was so much fun hanging out with them.

Before leaving McDonald's, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. We had already packed her snack (strawberries, apple dippers and raisins). We were a few minutes late for school, but Kaitlynn didn't miss anything.

The daily schedule said they read "Potluck," pretended to bake pies with cinnamon play dough, painted with puffy paint, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "A Turkey Is A Funny Bird."

Hanna and Adam came over to babysit Kaitlynn while Dave and I went to Kaitlynn's Parent / Teacher Conference. Our first Parent / Teacher Conference! We met with Ms. Maureen. She said Kaitlynn has the routine down and can follow the schedule well. She is learning to advocate for herself and will suggest different ways to play something (such as a game). She loves the sensory areas (water and sand tables) and the pretending areas. She isn't much into the writing center, but Ms. Maureen said that was developmentally appropriate and to be expected. She does need help with turn taking and not taking things from her peers. She does try all the different projects / tables and centers. She isn't much into writing her name and says she can't when asked. She sometimes has / lately has some issues with story time / paying attention during group time. She also likes to start tasks, but sometimes won't finish them. The conference went really well and the teacher said Kaitlynn is a joy to have in class. We were very pleased with how well Kaitlynn is doing. This is her first year in preschool and basically first time away from me for any length of time.

Dave and I had dinner together at Qdoba. He went home and I went back to Kaitlynn's school for a parenting session called Good Night Sleep Tight.

Fall Pictures and Santa's Arrival

Friday, November 12th, I had another early doctor appointment. I babysat. Kaitlynn tried on her Thanksgiving outfit and I took pictures of her in the front and back yards. After she started climbing a tree in our backyard, I made her change her clothes (after many cute pictures). She wanted to play in the leaves again. She wanted me to make a jump pile for her. That's what she calls a pile of leaves! Isn't that cute?
I had so much fun taking pictures of her playing and having fun in the leaves and climbing the tree.
While she was playing in the front yard, I looked over in the neighbor's yard and saw Sassy (our puggle) over there. I ran to the back yard to get her back in our yard. She scaled the fence back over and then almost immediately started attacking Bailey (our chihuahua terrier). I yelled for Kaitlynn to go inside because she was in the front yard. It took forever to get Sassy off of Bailey and I broke a nail in the process! Not sure what got into her. Crazy dog!

After Dave got home, we went to The Mills for Santa's Arrival. It seemed a little weird going for Santa's Arrival and to see the Lighting of the Salvation Army Tree before Thanksgiving. We renewed Kaitlynn's kidgit's membership. She got a t-shirt, a teddy bear and to spin the wheel. Kaitlynn didn't like seeing Santa and wouldn't stand by him to get her picture taken. She liked the tree lighting. She had fun playing in the play area, riding around in one of the mall strollers and riding the train. The train now goes around the mall instead of just in a small circle. We had a nice dinner at Casa Gallardo.

Saturday, the 13th, we didn't do much. I was having pains in my stomach, had a slight headache and was nauseous. I used the heating pad a lot of the day. Kaitlynn rode her jeep in the front yard and played in the back yard with Dave. Dave also made her a jump pile in the front yard.

Sunday, the 14th, we missed church. Later after I felt better, Kaitlynn and I met Tia, Annabelle and Alayna at Buder Park after picking up McDonald's for lunch. It was our first time at that park. I liked the park with the exception that the bathrooms were already closed for season / year. Now living in St. Louis, that is absolutely absurd to me. We get some really nice fall days that make for great park days. Not having a bathroom just doesn't work for us. What was a mom to do? Kaitlynn had to go to the bathroom and had to go immediately, so I just let her go near a bush. I have never let her do that before, but it was an emergency. Later, while Kaitlynn and Annabelle were playing, Kaitlynn said she had to go to the bathroom and started pulling her pants down. I was so embarrassed. Thankfully she hasn't done anything like that since!

Later, we went to MawMaw's to run some errands and had dinner with her. While at MawMaw's, Kaitlynn saw a picture of Dave and me. She said "Is that a picture of mommy and daddy?" MawMaw said, "Yeah when they were married." Kaitlynn said, "They were married! Oh my gosh, I can't believe it!"

13th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, November 10th, I babysat. Kaitlynn prepared for preschool. We packed her snack (grapes and fritos) and she went to school. We got there early so she played at the train tables in the Commons.
One of Kaitlynn's books ordered from Scholastics got misplaced from her stack so it was in her cubie.
When I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool, Ms. Maureen said Kaitlynn didn't look like herself and that she was tired and crabby at school. The daily schedule said they reread "Today is Monday," illustrated their own version of "Today Is Monday" at the writing center, played Papa's Pizza Pile-Up, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Five Little Hot Dogs." Kaitlynn also brought home a memo regarding the Holiday Boutique that the PTO has at her school to benefit their programs.
Kaitlynn made this pizza for me. Funny it has meatballs on it (and I am a vegetarian!).

We went to Circle K to get a special drink and then to MawMaw's. We went to Kohls, TJ Max, Target and PetCo, then had dinner at Red Robin's. At PetCo Kaitlynn held a ferret.

Thursday, the 11th, I had another early doctor appointment. I babysat. Kaitlynn prepared for preschool and we packed her snack (raisins and popcorn). We got to preschool a little early so she played in the Commons. Kaitlynn's school pictures were in! I was super excited to see them and think they turned out pretty great.

I picked up MawMaw while Kaitlynn was in school. We went shopping and then picked Kaitlynn up. The daily schedule said they read "If You Give A Pig A Cookie," drew with artist chalk at the easel, played I Spy and searched for pictures with a friend, played outside on the playground and learned a new pose in Yoga (shark). She brought home a November Healthy Kids Newsletter from the school nurse and a memo about a Giving Tree / Snowman Mittens tree (adopting families for the holiday).
Kaitlynn made this pizza for daddy.

We got special drinks and then went to dinner at El Nopal. Swim class was canceled.
Kaitlynn attended a Thanksgiving Eve Storytime at the library. She wasn't too interested in story time, but liked the crafts afterwards. She was really tired.
