Dance and Preschool

Monday, November 8th, I babysat. Dave and Kaitlynn went with me to my procedure at the hospital. On the way there, Kaitlynn said, "Yea, I was on tv! Take my picture with Presley and send it in so I can be on tv again!" She was referring to the picture that Heather (from MLM) took of Kaitlynn and her daughter Presley at the MLM Trick or Treat Playdate. It was on tv, I think the news later that day. I was surprised at Kaitlynn bringing it up since it was a week and a half ago. My doctor was running almost an hour behind, so Kaitlynn and Dave waited with me in the waiting area until I went back. The procedure didn't take long and was not that painful thankfully. The results were great as well. My cell phone screen went out, so we had to go to At&t to get a new one. I had only that phone for less than a month. Very frustrating!

Tuesday, the 9th, I had an early morning lab and doctor appointment. I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. After dance, we came home and ate lunch. Kaitlynn packed her snack (fritos and raisins) and got ready for preschool. We arrived at preschool a little early so she played with Dominic, a friend from her class at the train tables for a few minutes. We also brought groceries in for the Food drive. After I dropped her off, I had to pick up a package at FedEx.

After preschool, Kaitlynn told me that a girl in her class told her to "get away." Kaitlynn was a little saddened by that. We talked about that and otherwise she had a good day. She brought home a new emergency phone list and a memo explaining a new Character Development Program ("The Magic Is In Us"). Basically a puppet, Martin the Magician, will introduce a story of a chosen topic. The topic this fall is learning about each child's uniqueness. The topic was selected from the MO Pre-K Social and Emotional Development Standards and Approaches to Learning. They are focusing on the Standard - Knowledge of Others: Builds Relationships and Mutual Trust and Respect with Others.

We visited MawMaw and had dinner with her before coming home.

6th Wedding Anniversary

Friday, November 5th, I finally got all my emails from my inbox cleaned out! I babysat. I was supposed to have a procedure done, but couldn't so it was rescheduled for the 8th. I was nervous about getting it done so I was kind of glad it was reschedule, but then I had to think about it all weekend. That wasn't good either!

Dave got a special U2 Presale ticket event email, so we got our tickets for the concert on July 17th. So excited!

Saturday, the 6th, was Dave and my 6th Wedding Anniversary! Kaitlynn went to MawMaw's. She was so excited because MawMaw watched her and Brandon. She was talking about it all week and couldn't wait! She has so much fun with Brandon. Dave and I went to Momo's, a Greek restaurant that has belly dancing. It was a fun evening with great food and a unique atmosphere! We enjoyed a bottle of wine, some appetizers / tapas, dinner and belly dancing. After dinner, we went to River City Casino (not to gamble). I just wanted to see the new casino. We didn't have a real late night. I guess that means we are getting old. Actually, I think it just means that we are comfortable being with each other and being at home!

Sunday, the 7th, we went to church. We started a new series on "Forgiveness: A Most Difficult Word." We started with discussing asking for forgiveness and why it is such an important thing to God.
Kaitlynn attended her class. I think it is so funny that she chose a dark haired girl as her picture. First she told me it was her sister, then said it was her. Too funny! They learned that "God gives us our family."
It was also the day to bring items in for the Christmas store. It was so overwhelming to see all the great things that the church community brought in for the store!

After church, Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's because Dave had to work and do some school homework. MawMaw and I took Kaitlynn to the mall where we ate lunch, shopped and Kaitlynn played in the play area.

12th Week of Preschool and 2nd Thursday Swim Class

Wednesday, November 3rd, I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and packed her snack (an apple and Halloween iced shortbread cookies) in her lunch box. I took Kaitlynn to school and attended an appointment.

I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza)," constructed water spouts for the Itsy Bitsy Spider in the water tables, played wash and dry bingo, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" (a hip-hop version). Kaitlynn brought a baggie of pumpkin seeds home with a note that said to either plant them in the springtime or roast them for a snack. She also brought home the November Newsletter and a memo about play-based screening scheduled for December.

We got our special drinks and went to MawMaw's. We ran some errands and had dinner.

Thursday, the 4th, I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and packed her snack (goldfish and raisins). While Kaitlynn was in preschool, I had a massage. I was really looking forward to the massage. Dave and Kaitlynn gave me a gift card back in February for my birthday. I didn't really like the guy who gave me the massage. He was kind of weird and then the girls at the front desk were really screwy with my gift card. I will not be going back there. My previous experience with them has been good, but I am not going to mess with them anymore.

I picked MawMaw up and we picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said Miss Marty (the school counselor) visited with her puppet Martin the Magician. They read "The Skin You Live In" together. They decorated people pictures to look like themselves and told Miss Angela what they liked about themselves. They went outside to play on the playground and learned a new Yoga pose (Dragon).
Kaitlynn's Scholastic book order came in.

We got special drinks after school and then went to the house to rest before swim class.

At swim class, there were 6 kids (3 girls and 3 boys) and 2 instructors (Mags and Courtney). Kaitlynn and a little girl named Natalie made friends. They dove for the rings (which Kaitlynn and Natalie did together), poured cup of water on themselves, popped the bubble, played red light/ green light and sang Ring Around the Pool. In the deep end, they floated with an instructor, floated with a noodle, swam with a noodle and then went back to the shallow water to play on the slide.

We ran some errands and ate dinner.

Later that evening, I thought I was being smart by googling a procedure I was scheduled to have the next day. Not so much!

Dance, Preschool and Election Day

Monday, November 1st, Kaitlynn and I went to Monday Makeover at church. We made our Target rounds to find good Halloween deals (clearance). We picked MawMaw up from work and took her to an appointment. After the appointment, we had dinner at Gingham's (one of Kaitlynn's favorite places to eat).
Kaitlynn likes these coloring sheets at Walgreens.

Tuesday, the 2nd, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. Afterwards, we went home to have lunch and get ready for preschool (packed snack - goldfish and raisins). I took Kaitlynn to preschool and then went to a doctor's appointment. The appointment took a lot longer than I expected, so Dave picked Kaitlynn up from school.
The daily schedule said they read "The Little Red Hen," illustrated Itsy Bitsy Spider stories at The Writing Center, scooped seeds from the pumpkins in their pumpkin patch, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "The Isty Bitsy Spider."

I voted after my doctor appointment. We went to dinner at Applebee's and had to stop by Walgreen's for a prescription.
Kaitlynn loved this skeleton, so Dave bought it for her since it was on clearance.

Happy Halloween

Sunday, October 31st, we went to church. It was the last week of the "Unfrozen: How the prayer of Jesus changes us" series. Kaitlynn attended her class. They learned "The Bible says, 'Jesus loves everyone.'" They heard the story of Jesus and the little children (Matthew 19, Mark 10, Luke 18). They sang "Jesus loves everyone."

Dave and Kaitlynn went to pick up MawMaw while I cleaned the house and started the chili. When they got back, Kaitlynn opened her Halloween basket from us and the gift from MawMaw. We ate dinner, took pictures and went trick or treating. It was a pretty low-key Halloween, but a good one.

Kaitlynn wanted to take Daisy with us while trick or treating. Kaitlynn had it made - she rode around in style. Dave pulled her in the wagon. I think she was the cutest Alice in all of Wonderland! She did awesome telling her joke too. She told people whether they asked her or not. Her joke was: "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 ate 9!"

Spooky Saturday and Boo at the Zoo

Saturday, October 30th Dave, Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I went to the Zoo for Spooky Saturday. Hanna, Neese and Brandon met us at the Zoo. Kaitlynn trick or treated. She won a Zhu Zhu pet. She made some animal masks and decorated a crown at the craft tent. She enjoyed the Costumed Character meet and greet and got her picture taken with most of the characters. The Costume Parade was pretty cool!

We stayed at the Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. At the end of the Costume Parade, we ran into Jill, Emil, Nick and Katy. We hung out with them and also met up with Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna. Kaitlynn fell asleep after the parade. We ate dinner at Lakeside Cafe. The kids did some crafts (Kaitlynn was still sleeping). We went to the Children's Zoo for a show, but it was crowded and the kids weren't interested. Kaitlynn woke up soon after we got to the show. They had fun running around and playing in the Children's area. We also met up with Jen, Conor and Caitlin.

Trick or Treating at Eckerts and Halloween Festival

Friday, October 29th, I babysat. Kaitlynn went with me to the lab and then shopping. Later, after Dave got home, we went to the MLM Trick or Treat Playdate at Eckert's in Millstadt.

Kaitlynn had a lot of fun!

We went to the Manchester Halloween Festival, where Kaitlynn played some games, rode a pony and won lots of candy and prizes. We rode the hayride and had a great time!
