12th Week of Dance and 15th Week of Preschool

Monday, November 22nd, I babysat.
I found Kaitlynn laying under the Christmas tree.
Later, we took MawMaw to a doctor appointment.

Tuesday, the 23rd, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. She took Mrs. B and Ms. Julie a loaf of pumpkin bread and a half dozen pumpkin muffins each, along with a Halloween / Thanksgiving card.

After dance, we came home for lunch, got ready for preschool and packed her snack (pretzels and an apple). We took the 2 teachers and 2 assistants in Kaitlynn's classroom plus the speech therapist (who doesn't work with Kaitlynn but spends time in the classroom) each a loaf of bread, half a dozen muffins and a Halloween / Thanksgiving card. Do the teachers really eat the baked goods brought in? I think I would if I was a teacher. Dave teased me that I did all that baking just to have the teachers throw it all away. I hope not, but if they did that's fine too.
Kaitlynn had a good day at school.
Kaitlynn didn't have preschool the rest of the week due to Thanksgiving break.

Wednesday, the 24th, Kaitlynn and I just hung around the house, rested and played with her toys. While I was resting, Kaitlynn and I were talking. I asked her how many kids she wanted to have when she grows up. She said she wanted to have 5 kids! Big family! I got such a kick out of that and thought it was so cute! I love my little girl! I wasn't feeling well (that's the reason we were resting). I had a cough and a horrible headache. Thankfully, we had cough medicine in the house!

Nail Salon, Christmas Tree and MawMaw's Birthday

Friday, November 19th, I babysat. Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's. We had a Girls Day at the nail salon! We all got manicures. Kaitlynn is such a girly girl, she had to wear her Cinderella dress up heels.

After Dave got home, I cleaned house and baked some brownies while Dave and Kaitlynn put up the Christmas tree.

Saturday, the 20th, we sat out our Boy Scout bag (Scouting for food). We took Bailey and Sassy to get their shots and nails trimmed. Kaitlynn fell in love with the dogs at PetCo that were up for adoption. Later we met Tia, Mike, Annabelle and Alayna at Yo My Goodness for some frozen yogurt. We didn't stay long because we hadn't had dinner yet. We picked up dinner and took it home. Later Dave went out and got us each a Starbucks holiday drink. Yum!

Sunday, the 21st, we went to church. We ended the Forgiveness: A Most Difficult Word series with a look at what it would mean for forgiveness to become a way of life for us.
Kaitlynn attended her class. They talked about "God gives us everything. God gives us our friends." They read the story of Elijah and the widow (1 Kings 17:7-16). They also sang "Thank You Lord."
We went to the Family Christian Store after church to finish getting MawMaw's birthday gift.

Kaitlynn decorated MawMaw's birthday card when we got home. We went to MawMaw's and took her out to dinner to Outback Steakhouse. Jeff went along with us. Kaitlynn had so much fun at dinner. It was a really good dinner!

After we got home I started on a baking bonanza! I made well over 10 loaves of pumpkin bread and about 80 pumpkin bread muffins. I made so much because Kaitlynn was giving a loaf of bread and half a dozen muffins to each of her teachers.

Boy was I exhausted after all that baking!

14th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, November 17th, I babysat. Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and we packed her snack (pringles and raisins). While Kaitlynn was at preschool, I went for blood work and picked MawMaw up from work. We went to Circle K to get Kaitlynn's special drink before picking her up. While there, one of the workers that I see a lot from going to this particular location often was smoking a cigarette. Not a big deal you say? Well to me it was because she is pregnant and due in February. I was so shocked and stunned I didn't know what to do or say (if anything). I am not trying to be judgemental, but seriously the proven affects that has on an unborn baby are extreme and that is just selfish and appalling. I didn't say anything to her and just hurriedly got in my car. What would you have done? Would you have said something to her?

Anyway, we picked Kaitlynn up from preschool. The daily schedule said they read "Rabbit Stew" - a story about clever rabbits and a hungry dog, played Ice Cream Scoops of Fun - a matching game, illustrated story pages based on the book "Potluck," played outside on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Turkey Hunt." Kaitlynn picked 2 mittens off of the Giving Hands / Mittens Snowman. We ran some errands and went to the mall. Kaitlynn played in the play area for a bit after we ate dinner and did some shopping.

That evening I took some pictures of Lever, since I hadn't taken any since we first got him. I've tried to get pictures of him but he is one excited puppy and hard to photgraph. He is 9 months old and has grown quite a bit since we adopted him in the Spring.
He has such an adorable face!

Thursday, the 18th, I attended my Women's Group. Actually the Women's Bible Study I was in through church is over with, but the women in my group (at my table) decided to continue meeting once a month. This was our first meeting outside of the actual Bible Study. It was so great to see these women and catch up with them again. Only 1 of the ladies wasn't able to meet with us and 1 had left the group before the end of the Bible Study through church. We decided that we would start reading "I Quit" by Geri Scazzero. We are going to discuss 1 chapter a month.
Kim gave each of us these with different sayings on them. How sweet!

After the group, I went home to get Kaitlynn ready for preschool and packed her snack (pretzels and an apple).
Kaitlynn trying on her new hat and gloves for school.

While Kaitlynn was in school, I went grocery shopping. Thanksgiving grocery shopping completed!

The daily schedule said they read "Shake My Sillies Out," played Ice Cream Scoops of Fun, built with Scooby Doo characters in the block center, played outside on the playground and had Yoga.

She fell asleep when we got home and slept until almost 7PM. We missed swim class because I couldn't wake her up. She was so tired. Later she said she had a tummy ache.

I had been waiting for the Halloween / Thanksgiving cards I ordered to come. After checking my account to see the status of the order, I realized it was still in "my cart"! Duh! So I had to put a rush on them. Let that be a lesson to everyone. Check your carts when you order something to make sure the order went through!

On a good note, I bought Kaitlynn a preschooler's devotional and we have been reading it each night before bed. She seems to really like it!

Bring A Friend to Dance and Parent / Teacher Conference

Tuesday, November 16th, I babysat. Kaitlynn had dance class. It was Bring A Friend to Dance Class week. Jess and Helen met us at the dance studio. The girls were so cute!
After dance we went to McDonald's for lunch. It was so much fun hanging out with them.

Before leaving McDonald's, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. We had already packed her snack (strawberries, apple dippers and raisins). We were a few minutes late for school, but Kaitlynn didn't miss anything.

The daily schedule said they read "Potluck," pretended to bake pies with cinnamon play dough, painted with puffy paint, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "A Turkey Is A Funny Bird."

Hanna and Adam came over to babysit Kaitlynn while Dave and I went to Kaitlynn's Parent / Teacher Conference. Our first Parent / Teacher Conference! We met with Ms. Maureen. She said Kaitlynn has the routine down and can follow the schedule well. She is learning to advocate for herself and will suggest different ways to play something (such as a game). She loves the sensory areas (water and sand tables) and the pretending areas. She isn't much into the writing center, but Ms. Maureen said that was developmentally appropriate and to be expected. She does need help with turn taking and not taking things from her peers. She does try all the different projects / tables and centers. She isn't much into writing her name and says she can't when asked. She sometimes has / lately has some issues with story time / paying attention during group time. She also likes to start tasks, but sometimes won't finish them. The conference went really well and the teacher said Kaitlynn is a joy to have in class. We were very pleased with how well Kaitlynn is doing. This is her first year in preschool and basically first time away from me for any length of time.

Dave and I had dinner together at Qdoba. He went home and I went back to Kaitlynn's school for a parenting session called Good Night Sleep Tight.

Fall Pictures and Santa's Arrival

Friday, November 12th, I had another early doctor appointment. I babysat. Kaitlynn tried on her Thanksgiving outfit and I took pictures of her in the front and back yards. After she started climbing a tree in our backyard, I made her change her clothes (after many cute pictures). She wanted to play in the leaves again. She wanted me to make a jump pile for her. That's what she calls a pile of leaves! Isn't that cute?
I had so much fun taking pictures of her playing and having fun in the leaves and climbing the tree.
While she was playing in the front yard, I looked over in the neighbor's yard and saw Sassy (our puggle) over there. I ran to the back yard to get her back in our yard. She scaled the fence back over and then almost immediately started attacking Bailey (our chihuahua terrier). I yelled for Kaitlynn to go inside because she was in the front yard. It took forever to get Sassy off of Bailey and I broke a nail in the process! Not sure what got into her. Crazy dog!

After Dave got home, we went to The Mills for Santa's Arrival. It seemed a little weird going for Santa's Arrival and to see the Lighting of the Salvation Army Tree before Thanksgiving. We renewed Kaitlynn's kidgit's membership. She got a t-shirt, a teddy bear and to spin the wheel. Kaitlynn didn't like seeing Santa and wouldn't stand by him to get her picture taken. She liked the tree lighting. She had fun playing in the play area, riding around in one of the mall strollers and riding the train. The train now goes around the mall instead of just in a small circle. We had a nice dinner at Casa Gallardo.

Saturday, the 13th, we didn't do much. I was having pains in my stomach, had a slight headache and was nauseous. I used the heating pad a lot of the day. Kaitlynn rode her jeep in the front yard and played in the back yard with Dave. Dave also made her a jump pile in the front yard.

Sunday, the 14th, we missed church. Later after I felt better, Kaitlynn and I met Tia, Annabelle and Alayna at Buder Park after picking up McDonald's for lunch. It was our first time at that park. I liked the park with the exception that the bathrooms were already closed for season / year. Now living in St. Louis, that is absolutely absurd to me. We get some really nice fall days that make for great park days. Not having a bathroom just doesn't work for us. What was a mom to do? Kaitlynn had to go to the bathroom and had to go immediately, so I just let her go near a bush. I have never let her do that before, but it was an emergency. Later, while Kaitlynn and Annabelle were playing, Kaitlynn said she had to go to the bathroom and started pulling her pants down. I was so embarrassed. Thankfully she hasn't done anything like that since!

Later, we went to MawMaw's to run some errands and had dinner with her. While at MawMaw's, Kaitlynn saw a picture of Dave and me. She said "Is that a picture of mommy and daddy?" MawMaw said, "Yeah when they were married." Kaitlynn said, "They were married! Oh my gosh, I can't believe it!"

13th Week of Preschool

Wednesday, November 10th, I babysat. Kaitlynn prepared for preschool. We packed her snack (grapes and fritos) and she went to school. We got there early so she played at the train tables in the Commons.
One of Kaitlynn's books ordered from Scholastics got misplaced from her stack so it was in her cubie.
When I picked Kaitlynn up from preschool, Ms. Maureen said Kaitlynn didn't look like herself and that she was tired and crabby at school. The daily schedule said they reread "Today is Monday," illustrated their own version of "Today Is Monday" at the writing center, played Papa's Pizza Pile-Up, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Five Little Hot Dogs." Kaitlynn also brought home a memo regarding the Holiday Boutique that the PTO has at her school to benefit their programs.
Kaitlynn made this pizza for me. Funny it has meatballs on it (and I am a vegetarian!).

We went to Circle K to get a special drink and then to MawMaw's. We went to Kohls, TJ Max, Target and PetCo, then had dinner at Red Robin's. At PetCo Kaitlynn held a ferret.

Thursday, the 11th, I had another early doctor appointment. I babysat. Kaitlynn prepared for preschool and we packed her snack (raisins and popcorn). We got to preschool a little early so she played in the Commons. Kaitlynn's school pictures were in! I was super excited to see them and think they turned out pretty great.

I picked up MawMaw while Kaitlynn was in school. We went shopping and then picked Kaitlynn up. The daily schedule said they read "If You Give A Pig A Cookie," drew with artist chalk at the easel, played I Spy and searched for pictures with a friend, played outside on the playground and learned a new pose in Yoga (shark). She brought home a November Healthy Kids Newsletter from the school nurse and a memo about a Giving Tree / Snowman Mittens tree (adopting families for the holiday).
Kaitlynn made this pizza for daddy.

We got special drinks and then went to dinner at El Nopal. Swim class was canceled.
Kaitlynn attended a Thanksgiving Eve Storytime at the library. She wasn't too interested in story time, but liked the crafts afterwards. She was really tired.
