Tuesday, March 8th, Kaitlynn attended dance class. It was drizzling a little out so she had to wear her new raincoat and insisted on using the matching umbrella too. Kaitlynn and Madelyn (a friend at dance) were running around together. Kaitlynn did participate in class, but had to be told a few times to get back on her spot (because she was playing with Madelyn). After dance, we came home, ate lunch and got ready for preschool. Kaitlynn wanted strawberry banana yogurt and an apple for snack at school. Of course, Kaitlynn had to wear her new raincoat to preschool also (even though it wasn't raining). I was able to convince her to leave her umbrella in the car, thankfully. At pick up, Ms. E (one of her teachers) complimented Kaitlynn on how cute she looked and said that she is always dressed so cute! The daily schedule said they read "Parade," painted with liquid watercolors and used straws to blow the paint, made banners and flags, played in the gym and in music marched to "Stars and Stripes Forever." this blue one was made for daddy this yellow one was made for me That evening, I finally took pictures of Kaitlynn in her Rapunzel / Tangled costume so I could finish the Thank You cards from her birthday party / gifts. The Thank You cards had been written out since the night of her birthday party, but I just needed to take a few pictures of her to include in the card. This is the photo collage we included in the Thank You cards. Kaitlynn was asleep by 9:20PM. The baby was moving around alot that afternoon and evening. I also had heartburn. Wednesday, the 9th, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool and chose peach yogurt and an apple for her snack. I picked MawMaw up from work and we both picked Kaitlynn up from school. The Healthy Kids March Newsletter was sent home and discussed Free Play. The daily schedule said they reread "Parade," built with Legos, made shakers to use as instruments for the classroom parade, played dominos, played in the gym and in music marched in the classroom parade. Kaitlynn napped in the car for an hour, while I took MawMaw to run an errand. We had dinner and went to the store. The rear brakes on one of our cars went out, so Dave had to take it into the shop. We are probably going to have to get rid of that car soon, but trying to hold onto it for a while. Kaitlynn was asleep by 9:30PM. Thursday, the 10th, since one of the cars was in the shop, we had to share a car. I had my Women's Group, so Dave and Kaitlynn dropped me off. They went to eat lunch at Chick-Fil-A. I texted Dave to tell him that no one from group was there yet just to give him a heads up. Dave called me back and Kaitlynn had to talk to me. She said "I needed to be patient and wait for my friends to come to Bread Company." Then she starting counting the cars at the stop light (because her and Dave were in the car still). I was finally able to get her off the phone and I thanked her for her advice. She is a good little advice giver! Kim, Mary and Kathy ended up coming to lunch. We had a wonderful time catching up on what's been going on with each of us over the last month, so much so that we didn't get to talk about chapter 4 of "I Quit" (the book we are reading together). Dave said Kaitlynn played hide n seek with 2 boys - she counted while they hid. They played bingo (the game that came with her meal) also. We forgot Kaitlynn's bookbag when leaving the house that morning. Her teacher said it was no big deal. They had cheez-its she could have for snack and Kaitlynn was OK with that. I couldn't believe we forgot her bookbag and was a little embarrassed, but really it ended up not being a big deal. Kaitlynn's Scholastic book order came in. At pick up, Ms. M said that Kaitlynn hit someone that day (and she did it yesterday too). Apparently she wanted a toy. When I talked to Kaitlynn about it, she said they boy hit her first, so she hit him back. I explained that even if someone hits her, she should not hit them back. She should try to talk to the other person and if they can't work it out, go to a teacher. The daily schedule said they had a tornado drill, did yoga (the boat, down dog, the plank, bridge, all is well), played UNO (color and number matching game), played in the gym and in music did "Workout to the Letter Sounds." When we got home, Kaitlynn watched a little TV. She likes T.U.F.F. Puppy (on Nickelodeon) and Arthur (on PBS). She also colored a color by number picture in her Alvin and the Chipmunks book and we read her new Spongebob book (which had stickers to complete each page). Kaitlynn was asleep by 9:05PM. I felt the baby moving and also had a sore lower tummy. The other car was still in the shop.
