33rd Week of Dance and 35th Week of Preschool

Tuesday, May 17th:
It started out an eventful morning. As I was walking down the basement stairs, I slipped on a nylon Nike jacket and fell down the steps. I fell on my bottom, bounced, hit my elbows on the steps and then slid down to the bottom. Thankfully I was holding onto the rail when it happened and I didn't fall on my stomach. It definitely shook me up and scared me. I was screaming, yelling and crying. Kaitlynn and Dave came to check on me. I was just shaking. My bottom and elbows hurt.

Kaitlynn had dance. When we got home, Kaitlynn had to check on the flowers. She was outside with Dave and Bailey and I heard her playing "kick the goat." I went outside to see what was going on. Bailey was the goat. Needless to say, I was not happy about that. Kaitlynn ate lunch and got ready for school. She chose cheez-its and grapes for snack. She apologized to Bailey before leaving for school. On the way to school, she put lip gloss on and brushed her hair. She said she didn't want her hair to be tangled for school.

While she was in school, I had an appointment with my OB. Right before the appointment, I received a call from the school nurse saying that Kaitlynn was hit with a zipper on a jacket and had a red mark under her left eye. They applied ice and she was OK. I didn't need to pick her up early. It was just a notification call.

It was a long wait at the office, but the appointment went well. Baby's heart rate was 141 and my blood pressure was awesome. I don't think I have ever had better blood pressure. I informed the OB about me falling down the stairs. She said she was fine with me not going to the hospital since I didn't fall on my stomach and I was feeling baby move.

I picked Kaitlynn up from school. The daily schedule said they read "The Best Nest," decorated class photos, played Flip-It (a matching game), went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "The Pirate Song." Ms. M said Kaitlynn was also hit in the leg by one of the classmates. She talked to the preschool coordinator and they are going to physically keep Kaitlynn away from certain students. 2 of the boys are just so physical with her and she just keeps wanting to play with them. 1 of the boys has a plan in place that they follow in regards to his behavior, but Kaitlynn won't stop playing with him.
Kaitlynn brought these things home. They have been hanging in the classroom, but since school is almost out, she got to bring them home.

We went to MawMaw's. As I was getting dinner, Kaitlynn took Daisy on her first walk on a leash in the neighborhood with MawMaw. Dave and I went to our church for a meeting about where God is leading our church.

Kaitlynn went to sleep after 10:30PM because of being at MawMaw's due to the meeting at church. I felt really run down. My left elbow was bruised and my right back side hurt and was tender. I still had a blister in the middle of my tongue and my throat was a little sore (from the strawberries from the other day). Baby was active. I finally decided to take my wedding rings off for good that morning. Too afraid that they will get stuck on my finger.

Only 1 robin's egg was left in the nest when we checked on it.

I was grateful for the baby being Ok after my fall, didn't get hurt worse, MawMaw babysitting Kaitlynn, Kaitlynn not being hurt worse after her rough day at school, good doctor appointment, the call from the school nurse and hearing baby's heart rate.

Wednesday, the 18th:
I woke up before 2AM with heartburn. Our dogs, Lever and Sassy killed a mole in the backyard. After breakfast, Kaitlynn pretended that I worked at a pet shop and was calling me "pet shopper." She pretended to buy Bailey from me for $500. She likes saying "keep the change my good man!" After lunch, she got ready for preschool. For snack, she chose goldfish and a granola bar. On the way to school, we talked about not playing with certain kids or anyone that hits / kicks her. We talked about who she could play with instead of the boys that hit her the day before. She talked about how 1 of the girls was absent the day before and another 1 cries alot. Ms. M complimented me on my shoes. She said that I always wear the coolest shoes and if she was pregnant she would probably just wear tennis shoes. It's nice to get compliments!

While she was in school, I checked email, watched my soaps and did laundry. At pick up, Max hugged Kaitlynn as he was leaving the classroom. Ms. E said he had a good day of keeping his body to himself. Kaitlynn walked with Max and Ms. E out to the bus. She asked Max if he had a sister. he said no that he has a brother. Kaitlynn said "I have a brother too, right mom?" I told her she would have a brother in July / August. Ms. E didn't know that we were going to have a boy. She congratulated me and gave me a hug. She is such a sweet lady. Kaitlynn watched her friends get on the bus and then wanted me to chase her. The daily schedule said they read "The Best Nest," played sequence for kids, decorated class photos, played outside on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Mat Man" and "The Pirate Song."

We went to the gas station to get gas and get special drinks. After we got home, Kaitlynn checked the bird's nest and got the mail. She played with Bailey and watched some tv.

Since falling down the steps, I have been having a hard time getting dressed and undressed. I can't lift my right leg up. I didn't have any major bruising from the fall. Baby was active.

After dinner, Kaitlynn watched a chipmunk in our front yard. I was having Braxton Hicks after dinner too. Kaitlynn danced with Dave and then me. She likes being twirled around. Kaitlynn and I went to get her an ice cream and me a sweet tea (actually unsweetened and just topped off with sweet tea). Kaitlynn took a shower and got ready for bed. While she was taking her shower, she got Bailey wet and used her new toothbrush on the dog. Yuck! That toothbrush got thrown out. She watched some Charlie Brown DVDs with Dave before bed (the holiday collection). She didn't go to sleep til right before 11PM.

I updated Kaitlynn's and the baby's totsites. Baby moved around a lot, especially after 11PM.

I was grateful for having no major bruising from my fall, blisters on tongue and in throat feeling better, Kaitlynn had a good day at school (and wasn't hit or kicked) and the weather was nice.

Thursday, the 19th:
I was still up at about 3AM. I finally fell asleep at some point. Kaitlynn watched Nickelodeon, had breakfast, played with Bailey and watched PBS. Baby was active. After taking a shower, I did the dishes and swept the kitchen. It was rainy out. Kaitlynn had lunch and got ready for preschool. For snack, she chose grapes and goldfish. Kaitlynn turned in her money for the End of the Year Preschool Snowcone Party.

Dave and I met at AT&T to look at new cell phones. We ended up buying 2 HTC Inspires, accessories, insurance and a U-Verse package. We were there for several hours getting everything worked out.

I picked Kaitlynn up. She walked out with Dominic. It was still raining. The daily schedule said they did Yoga, played Toss Across (a tic-tac-toe game), strung beads at the sensory table, played in the gym and in music sang / listened to "The Silly Pirate Song."

We got home, Kaitlynn had hot chocolate and rested while watching some tv. Unfortunately, I started having problems with my new phone. The network and apps weren't working. Dave's was working just fine, though. I was upset about the new phone, so I took a shower to chill out. Dave and Kaitlynn vacuumed the master bedroom and hallway. Kaitlynn got ready for bed. Dave read a book, her devotional and prayed with her. She was asleep after 10:30. She woke a few times throughout the night and was just whiny. Not sure what that was all about.

Kaitlynn was supposed to have her last swim class of the session, but it was canceled earlier in the week due to maintenance.

I was grateful for upgrading to the HTC phones, Dave and Kaitlynn vacuuming the master bedroom and hallway and being safe driving in the rain.

28 Weeks and Dave's Graduation

Friday, May 13th, marked 28 weeks, the start of my Third Trimester. According to Babycenter, the baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through my womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Baby was moving around. I did laundry and dishes. Kaitlynn had breakfast and watched tv. I had a headache. After showering, Kaitlynn and I went to Olympiad to sign up for summer gymnastic class. I think she thought she wasn't going to get to do gymnastics because they were closed.

We went to MawMaw's and had lunch. Then went to the Zoo for Zoo Friends Day. We attended the sea lion show.

We looked at the primates outside of the primate house, saw the big cats, zebras, giraffes, donkeys, a peacock and went to the bird house. When going into the bird house, Kaitlynn has to find the toucan first. It's Dave's favorite bird.

Kaitlynn looked at the prairie dogs and was talking to the other kids telling them about the animals. We stopped and had a snack - funnel cake and ice cream. We went through the Jungle of the Apes and Kaitlynn rode the carousel with MawMaw. She was doing "tricks" on the ride.

We went into the penguin and puffin cove, saw the bears and went into the Children's Zoo (where Dave met us). Kaitlynn pet a guinea pig and a chinchilla. We rode the train and then had dinner. After dinner, we went to see the stingrays and sharks. One of the stingrays, splashed Kaitlynn and MawMaw. Kaitlynn hurt her finger somehow because she was so terrified when the stingray did that.

We went to the gift shop. MawMaw bought Kaitlynn a bag of rocks, some stickers, and a bag and bought the baby a Zoo hat. We went to Wendy's for frosties to end the evening. Kaitlynn was asleep (in the car) by 9:20. Baby moved around alot throughout the day.

I was grateful for the nice weather, fun time at the Zoo and we were able to spend time as a family.

Saturday, the 14th:
T-ball was canceled due to the fields being unplayable (from the rain). We had breakfast and Kaitlynn played with Bailey. My stomach, legs and ankles were itching. Kaitlynn rested on her Sesame Street couch with Bailey while I rested on the couch. My left knee / leg was achy. Baby was moving around. Kaitlynn pretended to give Bailey a hair cut. My chest, neck and arms started itching. I took a nap. Kaitlynn colored some more pages from her Spongebob Easter book.

After lunch, Dave and Kaitlynn went to daddy / daughter dance practice. While they were at practice, I took a shower. Since being pregnant, my body temperature is so much hotter than it normally is. I get so hot, so easily.

We went to Eckert's for strawberry picking. Kaitlynn napped in the car on the way there. We went to the store and sampled peaches, different oranges (cara cara, blood orange and a few others), natural peanut butter and raspberry salsa. We went to the garden center and looked around.

We picked strawberries. It was windy when we were in the strawberry fields. After strawberry picking, we went back through the store and sampled peaches and apples. Then had frozen custard. It started drizzling after we came back from the fields.

We headed home and changed out of our wet clothes. We had dinner and Kaitlynn had a shower and got ready for dinner. Dave read her devotional, they prayed and Kaitlynn was asleep at 9:30. Baby moved around. I had blisters on my tongue and in my throat from the acid in the strawberries, which is weird because I have never had that before.

I was grateful for being able to go to Eckert's despite the weather, getting home safely and being able to rest throughout the day.

Sunday, the 15th:
I was nauseous and baby was moving. I still had blisters on my tongue and throat.

We attended church. Our message was about following Jesus with uncommon courage. Kaitlynn learned that friends take turns.

After we got home, we checked the bird's nest and unfortunately 1 of the 3 eggs had dropped out of the nest. We had lunch and we got ready for Dave's graduation. We picked up MawMaw and then went to the Graduation Reception. We took some pictures and walked around.

We went to the Commencement and were able to get decent seats, even though they were on the bleachers. We arrived about an hour before the ceremony started. Kaitlynn did great having to wait so long.

After the ceremony, we went to dinner to celebrate at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a little bit of a late night. Kaitlynn fell asleep in the car before 10PM. Baby didn't move much that evening.

I am grateful for church, Dave's graduation, family coming to support him, dinner and Kaitlynn having a good time with family.

Monday, the 16th:
Baby was moving around. Kaitlynn slept in a bit and so did I. I was really tired and felt worn down. I still had the blisters on my tongue and throat. Kaitlynn painted in her Spongebob Easter book.

After calling Olympiad, Kaitlynn and I went there to register. Kaitlynn went into the gym with an instructor named Brittany to try to do a cartwheel. Kaitlynn was happy that she was signed up and going to start gymnastics this summer. She took a nap in the car for about 45 minutes. We went to MawMaw's and she went with us while we took the car for an oil change and did some shopping. We had dinner and went home. On the way home, Kaitlynn really wanted a frosty from Wendy's. She was yelling out at other cars, asking if they knew how to get to Wendy's. Silly girl! She wanted a frosty since after Dave's graduation. Kaitlynn got ready for bed. Dave read a book, read her devotional, they prayed and she was asleep about 10PM.

I was grateful for having a healthy pregnancy, sleeping in and getting shopping / errands done.

32nd Week of Dance and 35th Week of Preschool

Tuesday, May 10th:
Kaitlynn had dance class. All 5 girls were there. One of the girls was pinching Kaitlynn. After class, Kaitlynn said she wanted a different teacher. I think it was because her teacher wouldn't listen to Kaitlynn when she was trying to tell her the other girl was pinching her.

Kaitlynn didn't eat lunch. She got ready for preschool and chose a clementine and pretzel sticks for snack. Kaitlynn's teacher informed me that the OT would be available to do an evaluation the last day of school. Originally we were thinking it wouldn't be able to be done until the beginning of the next school year. We are trying to figure out if we can rule out OT issues. While Kaitlynn was in school, I did laundry, watched my soaps and took a little nap.

I picked Kaitlynnn up from preschool. She had to walk her classmates out to the bus. The daily schedule said they read "A House for Birdie," played Feed the Kitty (a dice game), painted with water on the sidewalks, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Goin' on a Bear Hunt." Kaitlynn also brought home information on her End of the Year Party and the Healthy Kids Newsletter (which was about sun damage, ticks and bee stings).

Kaitlynn had to look at the bird's nest and check on the eggs before school and after school. She played with Bailey, watched some tv, painted a picture out of her Spongebob Easter book.

After dinner, Kaitlynn took a shower and got ready for bed. Dave read books and her devotional, prayed and listened to her CD. She was asleep about 9:30. I did dishes, did more laundry and watched "Khloe and Lamar." Baby moved around. I had a hard time sleeping.

I was grateful for Kaitlynn participating in dance class, having a good day at school, the day her End Of Year Party is scheduled on and being able to get the OT evaluation before the end of the year.

Wednesday, the 11th:
Kaitlynn and Dave surprised me with a vase of peonies that they picked from the back yard.

After breakfast, she played with her zhu zhu pets and farm play sets. It was nice getting to sleep in. I have had minimal to no itching the last few days. My back, knee and foot (on the right side) were hurting.

Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. For snack, she picked raisns and baked lays. While she was in preschool, I did grocery shopping and watered the dahlias and butterfly bush.

I was about 5 minutes late picking Kaitlynn up because I was stuck in traffic. I felt horrible and thankfully she wasn't the last kid. I don't think she even noticed, as the teacher was reading a book to them. Kaitlynn had a substitute teacher since Ms. M was out. The class composite was finally given to the kids. Outside, Kaitlynn played with Chance and his sister Dani. I talked with Chance's mom and Ms. E about which kids were returning to preschool next year and which ones were moving on to kindergarten. Most of the class will be moving on to kindergarten. The daily schedule said they read "A House for Birdie," painted bird houses, shaving cream and zoo animals, played Feed the Kitty game, color explosion bookmarks, went outside to play on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Silly Dance Contest."

Kaitlynn had several snacks in the car on the way to MawMaw's house. Kaitlynn wanted me to paint her nails. She said my name was Susan. She made a picture for Dave and I.

Baby moved around. We went to dinner with Dave and Uncle Jeff. Kaitlynn played her leapster at dinner with MawMaw and Uncle Jeff. We got home, Kaitlynn showered and got ready for bed. Dave read a book with her, read her devotional and prayed with her. She was asleep before 9:30. I did laundry and was really getting the piles down. I had no itching. I was still, at this point, wearing my wedding rings. I had some heartburn.

I was grateful for not itching, getting the laundry piles down and having the money and transportation to go grocery shopping.

Thursday, the 12th:
Baby moved around in the morning. I slept in a bit. After breakfast, Kaitlynn played with her dolls, Tinkerbell and Silvermist, that she got from MawMaw for Easter. Dave and her also made a fort in the living room. After lunch, Kaitlynn got ready for preschool. For snack, she chose a granola bar, grapes and blueberries. Dave and I were both able to take her to preschool.

The daily schedule said they did yoga from a DVD, continued to paint bird houses, used model clay to make things that hatched from eggs, played outside on the playground and in music sang / listened to "Spaghetti Legs."

Kaitlynn attended swim class. Ms. Tori and Ms. Sarah were the instructors. 5 kids were in class. They dove for rings; played red light / green light; used a noodle to practice kicking and bubble breathing; used a kickboard to practice kicking; glide with face in water, kicking, bubble breaths; arm circles with face looking down at water; used the kickboard to practice arm circles; practiced arm circles, kicking and bubble breaths with the instructor. At first, Kaitlynn would only work with Tori. She floated with Sarah. They practiced noodle floating and kicking. Climbing up on the wall and then jumped to instructor. Kaitlynn showered in the locker rooms afterwards. I treated us to fruitista freeze drinks at Taco Bell afterwards.

Kaitlynn had an activity at the library, All About Mothers. They sang "If You're Happy and You Know It," "Shake My Sillies Away," and "Follow the Leader." The librarian read "Three Baby Owls." They did another song about elephants, read "What a Mother Can't Do" and "Guess How Much I Love You." They did 4 crafts: decorated a box, color a picture, tissue paper flower and made an eye mask. The crafts were all very cute for Mother's Day.

We went into the library, where Kaitlynn picked out several books. She also played on the computer. She was so cute, she said to this girl sitting next to her, "Excuse me, ma'am..."

After getting home, she watered the flowers in the front with Dave. We had a late dinner, Kaitlynn showered and got ready for bed. I read the 2 Diego books she picked out at the library, her devotional, we prayed and listened to her CD. She was asleep a little after 9:30.

I was grateful for getting to sleeping in, that we were both able to take Kaitlynn to preschool, Kaitlynn's good behavior at swim and having fun at the library.
